So, finally got around to properly watching the finale, rather than just relying on spoilers. Couple thoughts.
First, definitely thinking that there's something up with Pyrrha's death. Just the dramatic nature of it, the mystical appearance, and the exchange she had with Cinder right before the "Killing Blow"...something's gotta come of that.
Also more certain than ever that Ruby's a Maiden.

Did anyone else find it weird how suddenly Yang was the most powerful team RWBY member, when she got her ass handed to her by Neo? If anything, I thought Blake was going to be the one facing off in the one on ones. The show has this weird dynamic, where sometimes the characters are useless or OP. Ruby is fucking shit for all school related combat, but is amazing when "the bad guys" show up. Yang has only had her shit pushed in by Neo. Weiss does outstandingly well for school shit, and mediocre for any other combat. Blake had done well until the festival.

I can see the finale for next season being a battle to reclaim Beacon and the communications tower, so volume 5 might return to the school, but it will be like volume 3 where they aren't going to classes and instead are focused on something else.
