What are the chances of Marvel getting the rights back now?
>>
>>79850201
Disney doesn't want the rights back now that they're in a partnership anyways

Fox can have all the more adult-oriented IPs and run Deadpool at an R rating while Disney can have all the family fun movies cause they don't want to ink their name pushing out R rated movies
>>
Hey faggot, we need 10 Deadpool threads?
>>
>>79850283
yes
>>
>>79850283
Go make another FOP thread, faggot.
>>
None, and it should stay that way. Let the X-Men have their own universe. The MCU doesn't need Wolverine or Deadpool.
>>
>>79850273

Does Deadpool even need the R-rating?

They could just have all the deaths done in funny ways and reserve the really messy stuff for a violent Wolverine movie.
>>
FOX will probably have majority control but I could see Deadpool cameoing in the MCU for VERY brief moments or even opening for Infinity War
>>
>>79851401
Considering that all of that violence, swearing and immature humor is part Deadpool's character and comics, yes, the R-rating is necessary.
>>
>>79850201
You couldn't have Deadpool in MCU's family wholesome fun series. You can't have Deadpool wanting fuck the shit out of Scar-Jo and then turn around and hanker for some green dicking from the Big Green himself.
>>
>>79851401

I never understood pg-13 fetishists, is it that you hate being reminded that you're an adult or were you raised in a household where swearing is taboo?

I never understood this mindset. We have plenty pg-13 capeshit

Going pg-13 pushes you back into waypool territory, that is an inevitability.
>>
>>79850201
You'd more likely see Marvel trying to trade Deadpool related IPs to try and get F4.
>>
>>79850370
I like the rights split up. Movie studios can only make so many movies a year with the rights split across studios it means we have more comic movies each year that try to outdo each other instead of 1 company making crap that people will see cause it's the only option
>>
>>79850273
>Disney doesn't want the rights back now that they're in a partnership anyways

Really?
>>
>>79851840

PG-13 is just to have a better chance of making a profit for future projects.

Still, the movie didn't seem all that extravagant, so it looks like they can go wild with any following films.
>>
>>79851882

Well, this too.
>>
>>79850201
Fuck that, Disney would fuck him up. Fuck marvel
>>
>>79850201
Not. A. Chance.
>>
>>79850201
not enough quips for them to be interested
>>
>>79851685
Isn't the main Deadpool comic rated Teen? The only ones I can think that have a 18+ rating is the MAX books.
>>
>>79850201
Stop trying to force this meme.
>>
>>79850201
Let Fox keep Deadpool & X-Men but they need to give F4 back because they fucked up 3 times already. Dr. Doom needs justice
>>
>>79851899
Deadpool under Disney would flop
>>
>>79852958
there's a pretty solid chance there won't be another Fantastic Four movie for the next two decades, no one would touch it even if it went back to Marvel just because of all the bad publicity it would already carry
>>
Allowing Fox to make adult oriented superhero movies is interesting, but we've seen they can do dark shit on Netflix.

What I want to see happen is more synergy between the companies. Fox can do shit with x-men and deadpool and whatever else but I want to see them join up and cameo occasionally so we get a sense of a singular world, just different parts of it.

If we can have multiple comics with characters popping up all through them, we should have that in movies too. You know how much money I would pay to sit down and watch Infinity wars and deadpool, wolverine, and some X Men show up?
>>
>>79852230
You need to be older to use these threads. Jesus fucking christ get over it. Deadpool shines in an R-rating

In fairness, it seems less intense in a comic because it's both stylized and a still image. For most people it leaves more of an impression when something "happens" to a flesh and blood person, even if it's just special effects.

Disney is dying to build up a spider verse they already feature deadpool in their spiderman cartoons.

And the x men goes more hand and hand with Spidey more so than the avengers.

They can beat batman with Spidey rather than ironman
>>
>>79853827
Im a New Zealander but I can explain, we use a very similar rating system; G PG M MA15+ and R18. For ages Aussie didnt have an 18+ rating for games and considering they previous gen means a lot of games got banned. They have the 18 rating now but it did mean more than 70 games last gen being banned. Movies have always been fine asides from A cups in porn

There's a reason why those Punisher movies, Watchmen and Dread flopped and its not because it was R-rated.
>>
>>79850273
I don't think they want another quicksilver inccident.

The xmen which includes deadpool and F4 is crucial with the infinity gauntlet? war heck even in civil war.

I would imagine the avengers wouldn't be so safe spy thriller boring and depowerd if they had the xmen/spiderman universe with them.
>>
>>79850201
I dont want to /co/mpany wars or anything but i wouldn't wan't them too. Fox may at least do more R rated movies in the movies in future.

>Fox may at least do more R rated movies in the movies in future.
People are stupid enough to believe this.
>>
>>79851840
If anything Waypool started the R rated Deadpool shit, before that the only time DP got close to R rated was around the last issues of Cable and Deadpool but Way went full force with the dismemberment and blood.

Heck the Deadpool game is written by him and it's a prike example of how to do a shitty R rated Deadpool.

That said the movie was fine as an R rated movie, I liked it and I don't think they would do it justice if they had made it PG-13 although I do think that a DP movie can also work with that rating (just not Reynold's DP movie)
>>
>>79854305

But we need more ass shots, dicks, and vags in super hero movies.
>>
>>79854250
DP being R-rated had nothing to do on Fox's part, it was a passion project pushed by Miller and Reynolds because they wanted to get the character right. Its success isn't gonna change Fox's strategy since they want those Disney dollars.
>>
>>79854373
>>79854438
Not even that its just so fucking unreasonable for young characters in cape flicks, for example Spider-Man, a teen new yorker, not cursing fairly often, but never in front of Aunt May. Or Superman, a farmboy, not saying damn fairly often? These sorts of things are unreasonable.
>>
>>79854533
Its about image. DP is known for being a foul character so its fine for him to curse and act perverse because that's what audiences expect but do that to any other character and you start to get complaints about NOT MUH. I mean look what MoS did with Supes and the public outcry over it.
>>
>>79850201
If Marvel had made Deadpool it would be PG-13.

They will never get the rights back. Fox has now realized they have the potential to do Marvel better than Marvel.
>>
>>79854533
In fairness superman of all people isnt going to swear a lot.
>>
>>79853955
Deadpool under Disney would basically be his cartoon version in live action and that would definitely flop
>>
>>79852971
Lol why do you think that? Because they would make it PG-13? Shit like this >>79853165 didn't start happening in his title until Daniel Way took over and before that Nicieza was already adding the desmemberment but it was still tame compared to what Way did.

Seriously everything from the first half of Cable and Deadpool and back to Deadpool's first appearance mightas well have been PG-13.
>>
>>79853607
All of our ratings boards are privately run except for the record industry, and there's a different one for every industry. The only rating we have for records is a generic Parental Advisory sticker that gets slapped on records with cuss words.

With comics the publishers all have their own ratings. With Vidya, we have the ESRB which is an independent advisory board that lives via donations from the industry, since it deters the government from meddling with the industry. Movies have the MPAA which is a similar deal to the ESRB, except it's the movie industry. Books have no ratings-- some retailers will shrink wrap certain books to deter minors from looking inside, but they are largely unregulated.
>>
>>79850201
I Imagine Marvel is experiencing thier daughter getting raped in front of them multiple times and they can't do anything about it or profit from it properly.
>>
>>79855001
Or would sell more with those kiddie/ Chinese dollas
>>
>>79852230
It also neuters anything you might want to do to get teens. Teens who if they want to see the movie will still go to the movie anyway. Fucking hunger game's shaky came and just blackout deaths. That series had a shitload of issues the pg13 is just a bigger one.

It's like a fucking pg13 horror movie. At that point there's literally no fucking reason to watch it. It's going to be trash.
>>
>>79854716
>>79854952
I know its just unrealistic that not one of these people who were raised as earthlings doesnt curse
>>
>>79853817
So? Why does that mean everything should be PG13 to pander to that specific niche (that doesn't even want to be pandered to)?
>>
>>79854067
The ones that are shit are. PG-13 kills a movie 90% of the time for the sake of getting more bucks.
>>
>>79855466
Nah it just neuters what you want to see.
>>
>>79853967
They also used to own Miramax, which produced like half of Tarantino's movies.
>>
>>79855500
so?...money
>>
>>79855533
No. It neuters the creative vision as you see and can tell when she it cut out to make a pg 13. Even when it's designed for it. You can't tell a story like the hunger games on a pg 13 budget without it looking like shit or fucking friday the thirteenth. PG13 works for a number of things it doesn't work for this or horror or anything that has death in any depth.
>>
>>79853817
Not everything is for kids, fuck stick.
>>
>>79854106
It did do well because it was R rated, but indirectly.
R rated means small budget means less dicking with things from the producers means better movie means better trailer means more fan audience means better word of mouth. And a lower threshold for being considered "doing good".
Not saying a Disney PG13 movie wouldn't have made bank (it would have) but this movie does owe some of its success to being R.
>>
This vid should be required watching for all PG13 fags

>>
>>79853967
Vivid is an independent company since its founding.

>>79855555
Quints of truth. Miramax is now owned by an investment group whose majority stakeholder is a small Middle East country.
>>
>>79855624
>PG13 works for a number of things it doesn't work for this or horror or anything that has death in any depth.

Maybe not stupid crazy gory death, but there's plenty of movies about horror or death that are much deeper and nuanced than slasher movies that would be rated PG-13(which is a fluid thing, because standards change every few years. Deadpool probably would've been rated X for similar content by the 80's standard)
>>
>>79853827
Deadpool was rated MA15+ in Australia, not R. It's only R rated video-games that have had issues with release, because MA was the highest classification they had for video-games, so anything they deemed above that was refused classification and release -- the reason for that being an out-of-touch classifications committee that believes video-games are exclusively played by children. There's an R rating now, but I still think a few games have been banned anyway. It's not like they were ever consistent with what they've refused, but it's been a while since I've heard any major controversy, so I don't think it's unfair to say that things have improved somewhat.
>>
>>79850201
Imagine if they got this rights back early on the Avengers ultron would just be Ironman3 or Antman1
Whedon would be directing the xmen based on the comic book he wrote in 2014, the up coming movies would be Avengers vs X-men AvX, Men the Phoenix 5, Mutant evolution is like the easiest way to explain shit do you want that to happen?
>>
>>79855768
Not if it lingers on death in any fucking form or if there's swearing. PG13 is awful for things like Deadpool.

There should have been a PG15 rating.
>>
Let's post all the R-rated scenes from Deadpool comics before 2008

Because, you know, it's so essential to his character and Deadpool has always featured that stuff, right?
>>
>>79855577
Not really though.
Making a movie PG 13 doesn't guarantee more money in and of itself if your main target is adults.
>>
Then is the board of censorship's fault and not really the movie.
>>
>>79855863
Producers are just willing to take that risk.
>>
So the only thing that made deadpool great is the r-18 stuff.

>>
>>79855866
NO. It's the directors for being retarded enough to market an adult movie for teenagers and ruining the movie.
>>

There's an extended sequence where Wade and Vanessa experiment with each other sexually. There are some ass shots, maybe a few breast shots, plus she's clearly going at him with a strap on at one point. It's played up more for comedy, but it's probably more explicit then something you would see from a PG-13 movie.

They also visit a strip joint at one point, where the nudity is more explicit and on display.

It's always censored though.

Will Deadpool pave the way for more R rated super hero movies? There's really not enough adult fanservice in hero films.
>>
>>79858706
Probably not. It will probably remain the privilege of "edgy" heroes like Punisher, where them being R-rated is a big part of the appeal.
There's not much of a point in making Spider-Man or The Flash R rated.
>>
>>79857793
Only if she puts out.
>>
>>79853949
Spidey has more than enough characters from his own comics to make up for any lost interactions with the X-Men and Deadpool. Some moments obviously aren't going to be doable but not enough to be worth the headache of dealing with the rights issues.
>>
>>79850283
Yup. We definately do. In fact, let's just made a new board to discuss how awesome Deadpool in.

Nah. No chance in hell that will happen.

How do you guys feel about the fact that the writers and Reynolds think Wade is biscum?

I'm bi myself but I hate it when people try to change a character to make them more "progressive". I'll be seriously disappointed if the sequel does any kind of pandering.

They said pansexual, not bi. And to be fair comics Deadpool has been romantically involved with Death, who is not technically female despite looking like a chick.
And movie Deadpool likes unicorns, sexually.

What we know if he likes men he's top, because he doesn't seem to like taking it up the pooper much.
>>
>>79859145

He was only celebrating International Women's Day
>>
>>79859235
What's the difference between pansexuals and bisexuals? Do pansexuals also like to fuck trannies or dogs or something?

>>79859265
Reynolds said he would be fine with Deadpool having some homo moments in the sequel.
>>
>>79859235
>despite looking like a chick.
99 times out of 100, Death is just a skeleton in robes who identifies as a woman. and I'm pretty sure neither deadpool nor most readers nor most artists bother to pay attention to the differences in skeletal structure between men and women
>>
>>79859145
Wait. Isn't comic wade, like Bugs Bunny kinds of weird sexuality?
>>
I hope they never get the rights for any of the X-Men stuff. All the MCU films are same shit.
>>
>>79859315
Bi means both men and women. Two genders.

Pan means all genders, including shit that's not men and women.

Ommni means you're no longer limiting yourself to humans.
>>
>>79859315
it's a subtext thing. saying you're bi is saying you'll fuck hot guys and hot girls. saying your pan is saying you'll fuck guy, girl, inbetween, and other, with little regard for how they look

>>
>>79859315

How homo?
>>
>>79859366
Nope. Straight is for people who like the opposite sex of their own species only.
>>
>>79859366
If they want to fuck ponies, they're no longer straight. Heterosexual? Yes, assuming female ponies only. Straight? Fuck no.

>>79859385
Reynolds actually reads the comics right? So, I imagine one off gags. Maybe a dream sequence of Cable in a speedo at most.

No, for the last fucking time, DP did well because its a fucking DP movie it would have done just as well if not better as a PG-13 movie any other venues into R-rated territories is guaranteed to not do well. Disney will never do an R-rated capeshit and Fox and DC are JUST starting to establish their universes and DP was a passion project unrelated to their plans.
>>
>>79859659
Not even close
>>
>>79859683
Iron man is cliche'd action hero capeshit trope from start to finish, enjoyed by fans only because they were thirsty for that marvel dick.

Deadpool on the other hand is a decent flick that would be perfectly capable of standing on it's own two feet seperate from the wider marvel franchise, and would have been quite successful in the pre-capeshit era with Blade and the Punisher films back in the 80's and 90's.
>>
>>79859709
>Deadpool on the other hand is a decent flick that would be perfectly capable of standing on it's own two feet seperate from the wider marvel franchise
Eh, the problem with Deadpool is that it really blew some of its best jokes in the trailer, much like a cheap comedy movie does.

Combine that with a lot of shallow parts and characters, it doesn't feel like a full movie.

It was enjoyable and crass but not amazing.
>>
>>79859783
> eh, I don't really have any valid criticism so i'll point out the faults in the trailer.

You haven't seen the film, have you?
>>
>>79859828
I have mate.

A lot of the jokes fell a bit flat.

Some of the best bits like the "I pity the dude who pressures her into prom sex" felt wasted.

Also, why can't you take criticism of the movie? I even said it was enjoyable. Some of you just can't cope with it, can you?
>>
>>79859847
> some of you.
You're talking to an individual at this moment in time, not a crowd.
>>
>>79859847
>Some of the best bits like the "I pity the dude who pressures her into prom sex" felt wasted.
It's weird that you'd pick precisely a joke that's in the trailers. Just saying.

If anything the obsession with trying to be adult by overdoing violence and swearing is far more immature than wanting to watch a movie with a pg-13 rating.
>>
>>79850201
Given Marvel's four unannounced movies, the cancellation of Fant4stic 2, and the sudden partnership between Marvel and Fox (who were previously not even on speaking terms) for a couple X-Men TV shows, I think that Marvel already has the rights to Fantastic Four back.

Fox currently has an iron grip on all X-properties and Marvel knows that. The Sony deal is probably the first step in Marvel getting all of Spider-Man back from Sony. I don't think anything's going on with Universal and their characters, but that's a possibility, too.
>>
