Cotton is a pretty good guy though and is one of if not the absolute best character in all of KotH.
The Episodes of him going to Japan, Bobby going to that military school or w/e it was, and the ones leading up to his death are all my favorite.
At the very least I'd rather deal with Cotton than Peggy's stupid ass, at least Cotton's faults can be attributed to being a product of his time.

During an interview, when discussing his King of the Hill characters, Toby Huss admitted to really liking Cotton, and he thought that between the two of them Kahn was by easily the worse of the two of them.
And the funny thing is, he's right. Cotton was an asshole, but he had moments of decency and was likable. Kahn had a "superior than thou" attitude, despite being a massive pussy.
"DaleTech" is great in that regard, because it ultimately shows Cotton outwitting Kahn, and actually doing something good for Hank.

Khan is an asshole and on occasion funny but then you learn its not really his fault because his behavior is a result of the medication he takes for his manic depression and all the stress from work and impressing his wife's family. even before that revelation he fell apart pretty hard when he failed at being a provider. He also genuially thinks of Hank as a friendthough alot of episodes after this revelation seem to like to ignore thisand trusts bobby around his daughter.
I like both Cotton and Khan and they are heavily flawed people.also I just find it hard not to love Cotton, cant help but respect the man
