Amerifat here, I don't think it's really that big of a deal. Connie is almost 13, and Steven was 13 when they met. IRL it might raise a couple of eyebrows but they've been dating for a while, people would understand and they probably wouldn't get a lot of criticism. It's kind of like when a 16 year old hooks up with a 14 year old IRL and they go steady, and the older one is no longer a minor by a good two year/year and a half margin. Technically illegal and frowned upon, but they've been together for a while and the age gap used to be a lot less big of a deal. Like how a 15 year old and a 20 year old hooking up would be strange and probably end with someone in jail, but a 20 year and 25 year is a lot less so even tho it's the same 5 year gap. Also, in the show itself, Steven has physically been a 12 year old since he was 8 and Connie is probably going to age without him.
What I find funny is that when Steven fakes aging up a little, Connie is suddenly x10 more into him.
