Prior to that, Wade struggled to support a single book for years. Then after Origins they did a massive Deadpool push -- he went from sharing a book with Cable to having four ongoings (most didn't last long, but still, that's Superman/Batman/Spider-Man territory). He's just been going up from there, to the point he's now a card-carrying Avenger with his very own movie.
The collections sell exceptionally well, which is why there's almost always a Deadpool mini or two going on (which also sell well for mini's), so they can sell another collection.
