Just watched it. Feel free to ask me anything about it.

Some salient tidbits to start with:

Weasel and Blind Al are pretty great.
Wade's LI is good.
Wade doesn't like it up the ass.
Origin story gets pretty dark.
There is an after-credits scene. In fact, there are TWO stingers.
>>
>>79734657
Spoil the stingers
>>
>>79734657
Does colossus or NTW namedrop any new mutant or x-men ?
>>
>>79734657
Is the Box in it ?
>>
>>79734671
Keira Knightley might play Cable in the sequel.

Also:

>>79734721
Just the Professor. Deadpool makes a joke about it later when he visits the mansion.

Though a few cameo unnamed.
>>
It it true that you see Ryan's dick?
>>
>>79734657
Does Wolverine appears ?
>>
>>79734743
There's a callback to it where Blind Al and Wade argue over Ikea furniture.

Blind Al also has the displeasure of - due to her hearing being pretty good and them living in a duplex - hearing Wade masturbate. Which he does often. But the two jokes they make about it are pretty damn hilarious.
>>
>>79734759
Why is colossus looking for deadpool ?
>>
>>79734657
Whats a LI?
>>
>>79734770
Yes. During his first fight with Ajax. There's also a bit of nut during the beginning when Wade and Vanessa fuck their way through the holidays.
>>
>>79734657
Is it more of a Kellypool or Waypool?
>>
What's Stan Lee's cameo like?
>>
>>79734843
Love Interest. It's Copycat, but not a mutant. Still hot though.

>>79734820
He wants him to join the X-Men and use his powers for good. He's also after Ajax to make him answer for his involvement with the mutant soldier experiments.
>>
>>79734870
Kelly. Humor's outlandish at points, but it's more dark and grounded than Way's. Very sad - but still funny - clown.
>>
>>79734873
MC for the strip club scene. He gives some sage advice to the audience.
>>
>>79734952
How's the action, pacing?
>>
>>79734790
Nope.

>>79735004
Action's good and it has enough visceral speed and impact to make you forget that all this can't technically hurt Deadpool.

Pacing is the sort where it starts in media-res, shows you how it got to that point, and then moves forward with the story. But it adds new pieces and gags after the narration catches up to current events so you don't feel cheated.
>>
Do we see his healing factor at work?

Yes. Yes you do. Including one of the most vulgar and arguably inventive gags involving a healing factor.

>>
>>79735198
I think you do. And if you do, it's only a third of the gag so you'll be pleasantly surprised once you see it unfold on screen.

Unless you want me to totally spoil it for you.
>>
>>79734657
So was it related to MCU?
The final area they went to was one of the crashed airships from winter soldier
>>
>>79734657
Is the 4th wall breaking (if any) cringy? or does it blend in with the pacing?
>>
>>79734759
>Keira Knightley might play Cable in the sequel.

Explain.
>>
>>79735289
I don't think so, but Deadpool does make fun of the MCU stingers at one point.

>>79735358
There's a "16 wall breaking" sequence, but it's not any worse than most "this is how we got here" narrations since the story does its best to make you feel that Wade's struggles and emotions matter.
>>
>>79735448
She's got range.
>>
>>79735173
Ha ha, oh shit. That should be fun.
So how's Negasonic Teenage Warhead? She's not too annoying, is she? And how's Ajax handled? I already know they skipped the identity theft plot, so is he at least slightly memorable?
>>
>is there references to Hugh Jackman wolverine
>what happened in the end credits scenes?
>>
>>79735497
Wade takes the wind out of her sails early on, but her snark's fun enough.

Ajax is an uber dick that's obsessed with his name after Wade learns his real one. We're talking major asshole; half of the origin story is showing us why Wade wants to murder him so very, very much. And you come to understand and want him to kill Ajax so very, very much. Because he's a dick.

And instead of identity, Wade's reasons for going after Ajax are based on another aspect of Deadpool's character and is pretty much his fatal flaw in this film: Vanity
>>
>>79735714
You see a Wolverine: Origins Deadpool toy after Wade is diagnosed with cancer.

Some hints as to what's going to happen and who's going to appear in Deadpool 2.
>>
>>79735794
Can you spoil those hints?

Also is it confirmed that it exists within the X-men universe? any MCU or DC easter eggs?
>>
The fuck is a stinger?
>>
>>79735821
Cable will appear in it, but they haven't cast anyone yet.

Deadpool heads over to the Xavier School/Mansion to recruit Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead to help him fight Ajax. Beast is mentioned, as is the Professor. And while a few mutants appear in the Weapon X portion, Colossus and Negasonic are the only real X-Men that appear.

Days of Future Past scrambled the timeline, so this probably takes place in the new continuity.

>>
>>79735880
Deadpool's love interest in this movie is Copycat, albeit, as a hooker and waitress instead of a mutant.

So maybe. I'd be down with it. Reynolds was fun in this movie. Would love to see him plopped down in the "did you know the Four Horsemen were in the Book of Revelations"/"MUH HOLOCAUST!!!!" X-Men films.

Did the movie keep the scene in about how he finds his costume?

In the script he went in a costume store and found a superhero outfit of spiderman and turned the mask inside out which made the deadpool mask.

There was also a scene of him undercover on a train in the subway wearing a trenchcoat like the turtles and peeking through a newspaper with eyes hole cut out, he lowers the paper to reveal he has a poorly cut out picture of ryan reynolds stapled to his face.
that still in?
>>
>>79738208
Ah that's cool, I remember it from the script and I wanted it in the movie.

I do love seeing Wade suffers.
>>
Any Shoryukens from Wade?

>>79738310
>In the script he went in a costume store and found a superhero outfit of spiderman and turned the mask inside out which made the deadpool mask.
That would look amazing.
How did he get costume in comics? Always had it or there's some backstory?
>>
>>79738310
Nah.

He starts out with a white hoodie and a scarf-and-goggles combo, then a raggedy version of his iconic costume, before moving onto the final product.

>>79738396
Nah. But he teabags a guy.
>>
I too came back from the movie just now and everything OP has said is correct

I give it a 7.5/10 because too much Wade not enough Deadpool, but everything else lived up to my expectations.

I'm a big Kelly fan so I enjoyed seeing the old cast showing up instead of the Waypool shit, but a bit of a shame that Weasel was just a bartend and not the "techno guy". Was surprised to see Bob too
>>
>>79734657

Does Deadpool have any depth or is he a shallow quip spouting tard the whole time? Does the facade ever break and show just how fuckin broken and miserable he really is? Or does the movie just play on the internets idea of Deadpool?

From the trailer it doesn't look like Weapon X does anything to him mentally. Just physically. He's already cracking jokes well before the surgery.
>>
>>79740318
In this universe Wade was always a wiseguy, the only parts where he's shown that he's broken and miserable was because "I can't be with my waifu because I'm ugly and everyone thinks I'm ugly and therefore she will think I am ugly and dump me, boohoo" and I thought that was kinda dumb.

But the depth is sort of there and Deadpool vents to Blind Al and Weasel in comedic ways, but other than that not much

No moments of him becoming more than a little unhinged or anything? I was sorta hoping we'd see him crack and drop the clown routine during the final fight or something.

Thats disappointing.
>>
The first 20-30 min of the film was solid 10/10 worth the watch

It falls apart when the flashbacks begin and everything didn't live up to the first half.

The movie is 6.8/10 overall for me, I was underwhelmed in the end.

he sort of does that when his waifu is in danger and he has to fight seriously, but only sort of.

It was p. good. It's trying to be stupid but at the same time it's probably smarter than most cape movies.

It's probably more nonsensical than that, since Deadpool directly references the X-Men movies.

>>
I watched it earlier today and I don't know, I just didn't feel it, I really wanted to like it but some of the jokes and his general vibe felt a bit too Wayish to me and TJ Miller just really pissed me off whenever he opened his mouth.

I'm a big fan of Deadpool (Cable and Deadpool being my favourite piece of material for the character) but I straight faced the entire film.

But then again I might have to watch it again as my cinema showing had groups of black Londoners that kept laughing and shouting and taking pics with flash on at every violent scene ever.
>>
>>79751113
Yeah but in this universe Wade isn't a mutate from Wolvie cells or whatever it was, their only connection is they're both mutant Canucks with awkwardly similar power.
But hey, still a better origin than Origins.

>some of the jokes and his general vibe felt a bit too Wayish to me

>>
>>79751124
I'm a big fan too and I also felt a bit off during the whole movie. Clearly Ryan was 100% in his role, some jokes were really well found, some realisation parts were audacious and creative, I liked the music quite a lot...But you can really see it's a small budget one. It felt rushed, so short yet so many jokes and action it was hard to follow...And I know we're talking about Deadpool here. People around me surely didn't get all the references (heck if even I did), but the reactions were sincerely good. I might have expected something more, but we must admit it's a miracle Deapool isn't bad, but a really GOOD and entertaining movie.
>>
>>79751246
Fair enough.
I didn't get some pop culture references (and even then I got more than most of the theater) because they were very US-centric and I'm 30 but that's to be expected, other than that I think I "got" it.
It just. It just did what it wanted to do so genuinely and didn't really give a shit if people thought it was too low brow or referential, but then it didn't just wallow in being "edgy" and anticonformist. It wasn't an entirely faithful adaptation but it was genuinely a movie, it sort of had a soul that didn't looked like it had been dicked around by producers too much, and that was refreshing.

I'll need to rewatch it aswell, but I really liked it.
>>

First stinger is Deadpool spoofing the ending to Ferris Buller's day off
>>
>>79751494

>"Time to make the chimi-fuckin-changas"
As he gears up to take on the big bad.

Thats the only time. He doesn't eat any, he doesn't express how much he loves them.

He eats some pizza?
>>
>>79751589
>DIin't make a big deal out of it.
Dlin't?
>>
>>79751706
whats the second?
>>
>>79734759
I'll always refer to this song a Day Baw Baw.
>>
>>79751620

Cable is drectly mentioned in the after credits tease. Deadpool says hes in the next one, doesn't know whos playing him. Maybe Mel Gibson, Dolph Lundgren or Keira Knightley

He owns a Barakapool figure (sort of, it might not really exist). Theres a few mentions of sewing his mouth shut. Like how thats a really bad idea.
>>
>>79751716
Didn't*, pretty damn obvious despite the multiple typo..
>>
>>79751801
Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing out on the new, hip slang.
>>
>>79751788
It's funny I was thinking recently Gibson would be a good Cable if he wasn't a manlet.
>>
>>79751758

I'm gonna get the dialogue wrong but the vague gist of it is

>Credits end
>Black screen
>Ferris Bueller hallway
>DP comes out from around the corner in a bathrobe with his mask on
>Does the scene word for word
>"Ohh you're waiting for the big sequel tease? Were you expecting Samuel L Jackson with eyepatch or something? We don't have the cash for that"
>Something something, "pick up your trash" scene ends, black screen
>Comes back
>"Oh but I can leave you with an exclusive little tease"
>"We're bringing in Cable for the next one"
>Some stuff about casting him and what a big deal he is
>The end
>>
>>79751828
That's so fetch of you.
>>
>>79751890
>"pick up your trash"
You know I had just left my seat, and I went back and picked it up. Whether he likes it or not, he is a hero.

Ditto. I normally just leave it.

Although she didn't have this much time on screen, I think Al was the most spot-on character of the movie, and even better than her original comic book equivalent. Thoughts about Leslie Uggams great performance ?
>>
>>79752061

I want more of that. We got such a slight little tease of how much he fucks with her.

The origin baggage is all that really brought the movie down for me. Now that thats gone, and we've got the ultimate boring straightman coming I cant wait
>>
>>79738223

Nobody is going to care if you go by yourself. A lot of people go to movies alone.
>>
>>79752061
She was great. Her relationship with Wade was a lot less hateful than it is early on in the comics, which was... nice, but really not as special compared as comics Blind Al.
>>
>>79752110
Well they said Cable was in it, but that doesn't necessarily mean it will be full-on Cable & Deadpool, you'd think DP and his supporting cast would still be bigger.
I wouldn't really make assumptions, but yeah, we're not going to see as much pathos as in the comics. It's mostly played as a comedy where the drama and action are good.
>>
>>79752232

I could see it being a buddy cop kind of thing. Deadpool constantly ducking time travelling doomsayer Cable who needs Wade because hes the key to some future bullshit or something along those lines.
>>
>>79738223

There should have been a bit in the secret ending where Deadpool points to the camera and goes "hahahaha! look at that loser! hes come to the cinema by himself! everyone point and laugh!" just for guys like you.
>>
>>79752310
That sounds pretty cool and I'd enjoy this Wade riffing on X-Men time-travel plots, but you people really need to stop saying "buddy cop" for everything. Just "buddy movie" is a thing.
>>
>>79751971
>>79751988
If you ever have a large popcorn bucket and it's at least 3/4ths empty, leave. It can be a super useful tool for carrying other garbage as long as its placed somewhere it wouldn't easily be kicked over.
>>
>>79752346
But... this guy didn't go to the movies alone, this would have been a jab at people who actually have the "balls" to go to the movies alone.

probably the easiest way would just have it that Deadpool happens to have accepted a contract on some guy Cable has come back in time to stop.

I really can't see them adapting Cable's floating utopia arc without a major shift in tone for the XCU
>>
>>79752460
>leave
*it
Wow, leaving out that two letter word really changed the meaning of my sentence.
>>
>>79752449

buddy cop refers to two protagonists who would normally be opposed having to work together for some greater good. Not quite the same as a buddy movie which usually just means two friends. At least thats how I've always understood it.
>>
>>79752510
Nah the opposites thing is true of buddy movies too, even stoner movies like Friday or Harold and Kumar follow that dynamic.
>The buddy film is a film genre in which two (or on occasion, three) people of the same sex (historically men) are put together. The two often contrast in personality, which creates a different dynamic onscreen than a pairing of two people of the opposite sex. The contrast is sometimes accentuated by an ethnic difference between the two.
>>
>>79749522
Is the origins wolverine action figure joke still in there?
>>
>>79752659

huh

I guess the real distinction then is buddy cops force together contrasting personalities to solve a crime or some other crisis while buddy movies are about whatever.
>>
>>79752719
Yup. Big zoom on it you can't miss the scene.

>cut to wolverine: origins action figure laying on table
>>
>>79752775
When you are the only usher on floor duty in a cinema with 22 theaters there's no time for that.
>>
>>79752759
The crisis in Harold and Kumar is they really need white castle burgers.
How about we say buddy cop movies are about actual cops?
>>
>>79751307
Isn't the BluRay gonna be the Extended Cut too?
That might help with the rushed part.

>is there references to Hugh Jackman wolverine

No less than three.

>what happened in the end credits scenes?

Deadpool tells you to go home and then says that Cable will be in Deadpool 2
>>
>>79740438

There are a few moments of him becoming unhinged throughout the movie, but usually in brief glimpses of "okay, he's actually really fucked up"
>>
>>79754508

Yeah seen it now. Anytime he dropped jokester mode and went into a rage, I loved that. I wish he kept it up throughout the final fight. Really needed that "oh fuck hes serious now" moment
>>
>>79748406
Why the is Stan Lee in this he has nothing to do with dudepeel
>>
>>79740736

the opening credits list the various actors by comedic descriptors (Ryan Reynolds is listed as 'God's Perfect Moron', Colossus's VA is listed as 'CGI Character'). This is all set to "Angel in the Morning" aqs we get a slow-mo pan through the carnage Deadpool caused.
>>
>>79749657

Literally the opening credits.

They delayed it a week in my country (19 feb). Any chance to get it by torrent or online streaming?
