Well, if Cinder is based on Cinderella, the moral of that story is kind of twofold, that gifted people shine through and you're worthless without a proper guiding figure (a godparent). Cinderella is pretty, smart, kind, etc - but circumstances are poor for her until her godmother swoops in and lets her really excel.
One presumes Cinder is similar, she really is a talented, smart, pretty woman who would never have gotten this far unless somebody else set her on this path.

Well, it depends on what she's actually after. If this is all to get Amber's power, then the plan comes at the cost of shitloads of collateral.
If she is actually trying to start some long-term shit, Ruby (of all people) already spotted the thread. She'll probably get more evidence on the airship - not counting anything else which might come up, so long-term impact of Cinder's plans might fall short. This would make sense for an ongoing story, Cinder knocks out objectives A-C, but can't push it far enough to accomplish D, then both protagonists and antagonists basically have an ongoing conflict they need to resolve which will only get more complex for Cinder's faction as heroes keep poking it. This of course, assumes that Cinder's not going to just fuck it up at the end and bite off more than she can chew or something. Girl is hella overconfident, and it only takes one lucky scrub to ruin your day.

Ideally Cinder over or under estimates them and they blind-side her with something so simple. That said I want them to remove the nebulous plan because it can quickly make a plot get overly complicated too quickly.

Well, Kerry jokes he's getting a couple week break before he has to start working on RWBY again during the first RT Anime sponsor cast, so they're not really taking a 4 month break. There's also a season of RVB and a couple other projects launching too, that takes cash and uses up some resources. There might be a new season of X-Ray and Vav in there somewhere too, that's also the Animation department, RT isn't quite big enough to employ people to make RWBY all year round yet, nor do I think they should necessarily have to.

I understand that Monty's death was a setback for them, both production wise and they needed some time to mourn. But even with all their workers working nonstop and take shortcuts, it still takes ages for them to create 12 episodes with quality that jumps between bad and average.

Well, the popularity of RWBY is growing a lot. When the demand is rising you need to increase the supply. Waiting another 8-9 months, maybe 10 is not going to sit well with a lot of fans.
I personally don't care about RvB and X-Ray, so I would like to see the resources from there go to RWBY. But I know it won't happen because I know those two are popular too.

Well I'm kind of indifferent to X&V myself, but RvB has been going strong for nearly 14 years now, it is their flagship product so that ain't gonna stop. At least season 14 will be an anthology from many writers and directors, so while some of it is in house other elements will be made elsewhere. There are also people I'm sure who would like RT to drop RWBY like a hot potato and make more RvB all the time.
But something to remember is that RWBY benefits from other productions, a lot of animators now on RWBY came from working on RvB and X&V and that's how you're getting some of that quality improvement in the show. The problem is that since it's the whole animation department now that makes it harder to split them back up, but at the same time RT probably would never have extra 2D animators or other styles of 3D animators lying around to pull in.

I can tolerate that much more than Jaunedice. When I got to those episodes, I just had to stop watching for several months. It took quite a bit of cajoling from a buddy of mine to keep watching anyways, saying it gets better. Those episodes almost killed RWBY for me. Breach by far. The prom was awful, but from the moment they mentioned "dance" and started to put an emphasis on romance, I was not expecting anything good out of it.
