Give me a good reason why this show will not be completely dated in the next few years
WBB is the laziest cartoon I've ever seen.
It's like a half-baked school project rushed at the last minute that somehow got greenlit.
>>79135288
I can think of about three episodes that will be kind of dated but not in a completely incomprehensible way. You could debate Panda's internet dating thing but it's been over 20 years since it started and it isn't really going anywhere.
It's comfy as fuck.
>>79136128
I agree, I think this show is cute and I enjoy watching it. I mean, it's not going to be in my top 25 cartoons of all time or something, but it's fine, I'd rather watch this than Steven Universe. My only complaint is that I wish the polar bear had a cuter personality.
I love bears
>>79135288
Cuz it already is.
When are they gonna make more episodes?
Just a reminder
>>>/trash/1035825
>>79135288
Not all of the episodes deal with technology and/or relay on it.
>>79135465
That's because the creator went to Calarts. So you know it's an easy ticket to getting a show greenlit. Even if it's bad.
>>79136128
Comfy is a word to use when you have to justify watching a mediocre show. It's a step above Harvey Beaks in terms of "comfyness". But that really does not say much.
>>79141567
Hey, different anon here, but what is up with Calarts that I have been hearing so much? Is it a good or bad place?

Ice Bear is cute though. I really enjoy his autism.

>>79141706
It's alright but a long time ago, Walt Disney funded and took in animators from that college because it was the closest art school he can find. Now the tuition can only be afforded by awkward sheltered hipsters looking for good connections.
>>79141936
>>79141961
So people that look for animators are biased for Cal Arts graduates or something?
Who cares? Everyone just wants to see cute bears and talk about Mekko Rarekko in the generals.

>>79142062
Yes. That's why tuition is so high. But it;s cool because you also can get a show greenlit by knowing someone from Calarts too.

Agreed. Pure husbandos like Fukami deserve better than impure sluts like Buchi.
>>79135288
Because it's the best children's cartoon currently on the air.
>>79135288
It will be an encapsulation of a generation, as the Simpsons was, as South Park was. WBB is about the world we live in now, plus light fantasy elements, but more about the concepts of memes than specific memes. Meme themes, as it were.

>>79143607
>>79143628

>>79139784
New stuff next month.
I promise. ;)
>>79135288
I saw the first 8 or so episodes, but what exactly would date it? I don't think social media or YouTube will be going anywhere any time soon. And overt cultural references like >>79135348 are vague enough to be applicable later on.
Compare that to the likes of Animaniacs or Tiny Toon Adventures. Better shows by far, of course, but there were some very specific pop culture references.
>>79147370
Rumor has it that's what happens in the next chapter. Amanuma tries to kill himself but fails to do so and ends up hospitalized, Hamamura feels bad for what he did to Buchi and they end up becoming real best friends, Buchi and Taishou comes out to everybody that they are in a legitimate relationship and a lesson that bullying is a never ending cycle.
It's also supposedly gonna be the final chapter in the series. And supposedly if this last chapter sells well there is gonna be a Fukami spinoff. Although it's all just rumors so who the hell knows what might happen. Also no one will ever acknowledge this kid's existence despite being in almost every chapter and him being the only nice person to Buchi without resorting to rape.
>>79135288
who cares if its dated. we bare bears is one of those shows that fits the current year so well while not being completely annoying about it.
its comfy as fuck while not being obnoxious.
I want to sniff Ice Bear's ass.

>>79148351
Panda is a shit and does not deserve the sensual bear wiff.
>>79148234
That rumor has zero ground.
Except for the one about the next one being the last, thats true.
>>79148476
Ah, so it's really gonna end? How disappointing but maybe the next story should have less rape. Judging by his other manga it seems the author doesn't even want any kind of lewds. Just innocent fanservice with story.
>>79148234
>and him being the only nice person to Buchi without resorting to rape
The night is still young. He could drug Buchi and daterape him.
Spoiler: He's the mastermind behind of all the rape and bullying so he can have a used up mindbroken Buchi all to himself.
>>79148587
This doujin is actually clean and is only played for laughs.
>>79148587

Because animation is about connections you only need to be decent to be greenlit if you go to Calarts.
disclaimer - I have a degree from animation from a different school and may be jealous as fuck. Also I may have had a similar idea for a show awhile ago and while I don't think my show got stolen by the creator I'm furious as hell about the similarities (although my show involved a bear, a badger and a wolverine it's dynamics were...actually I'm just jealous as fuck).
I actually really like the show. I do. Really.

>>79148915

>>79148915
lol, I know at least two perma freeter Cal Arts alums that would love to benefit from the supposed insta greenlight. It's connections but a lot is also being in the right place at the right time. Don't be so hard on yourself, chances are you: d be on the same boat anyway, if that at all makes you feel better.
>>79148915
You can also pull a Rebecca Sugar and get a show simply by knowing someone from Calarts.

No matter what I try I can't get past that fucking panda. Thanks though, anon. I'll try again when I have some more patience.
Because mainstream 1st world popular culture has reached a plateau where the status quo of EDM-influenced pop music, Facebook and Twitter and Snapchats, organic foods, etc. will be the status quo until an environmental catastrophe brought up by rampant pollution and destruction of the environment forces the next step, likely by just wiping out the middle classes and leaving the elite few in the safety of technology while the impoverished masses become little more than slaves serving the elites, or ineffective revolutionary gnats exploiting the masses for insane goals and, really, their own little slice of power.
Also because it's not about the tech or lingo, it's about the cartoon being comfy as fuck.
>>79135465
It's the kind of show you watch when you want to be lazy and do nothing.
Strange as it sounds, I find the show to be a milder version of the Regular Show, less randomness and more cute moments. I been babysitting few kids recently and I rather watch this with them instead of some other intense good shit they couldn't grasp.

Going to call arts doesn't guarantee shit...right now there is a bias in television. But I knew some people who came from call arts, that I would say are not as well off. They have been out for a decade or so.
Like they work in the industry, but they still have to take animation tests and stuff. They aren't getting the easy ride that had been imbelished here.
>>79154113
>right now there is a bias in television
This. America hates animation because it's seen as something only for kids and prefers live action over anything else. Even when there is cartoons for "mature audiences" it's always edgy family sitcoms with an x twist coupled with bad art and animation that just loops right back to appealing to kids and the lowest common denominator. Even Youtube disrespects animators with their terrible algorithm. It's sad to see that people think that Steven Universe or Rick and Morty is the current pinnacle of action, comedy, or storytelling. The animation industry is fucked and it's only getting worse.
When is Bare Bears coming back? I miss my bears.
>>79155624
The creator posted on his twitter that it should be back in about a month.
>>79155624
Never. The creator of the show saw what degenerates the fans of his show were and ceased production on new episodes. He's killing himself this April.

I hope it ends with the next one, it's starting to drag it's feet and doesn't know how to keep itself up. The entire new bully stuff that's been happening was contrived as fuck, and ridiculously sappy. I can't remember if we ever got backstory on Buchi either, even though it's crazy implied his homelife is fucked.
Hopefully it's just a shotgun to the finish and Spot + Bully-kun at least wind up together in a not-rape relationship.

>The entire new bully stuff that's been happening was contrived as fuck, and ridiculously sappy
This. Is there anyone in this story that doesn't come from a bad household or a victim of rape?
>>79135288
It will be dated
Doesn't mean it's necessarily bad
>>79160095
Buchi , Taisho, and Amanuma don't come from bad households. Only Fukami did. And Amanuma hasn't been raped or come from a bad household. Or Hamamura. And until 7, Taisho hadn't been raped.
>>79160348
I bet in the final chapter they all get raped in a horrible gangbang.
I have no idea what you guys are talking about, but reading it without context is just making me speechless.
>>79160631
All you need to know is that >>79160095 exaggerated. Only 2 characters have been a victim of rape and 1 of them was very recent and barely even counts since they fuck all the time anyway.
>>79160631
It's a chubby kemoshota doujin that's about rape and bullying that's used for drama instead of porn. But it's cool since a fat little retarded kid secretly likes it. I hope that clarified everything for you!
>>79160782
His art got better really quickly. Even 2 looks leagues better than 1.
>>79160800
Agreed. I noticed in the recent chapter how gorgeous the artstyle looked in comparison to the first chapter. I'm also glad the artist dropped the whole Buchi is slightly retarded shtick.
>>79160995
Maybe he was just molested into not being retarded anymore.
Wow these threads really do talk about Mekko Rarekko. This interesting to watch
Uh guys? Remember We Bare Bears? Haha! Comics and cartoons!
>>79161105
As far as I know this is a reletivly recent thing, came back a month later and bam, gay retarded bears. From a manga this time.
>>79161151

>>79161105
One guy spurs it and there's no other type of thread that can linger long enough to get an actual word in. Porn discussions are weirdly fun when you think about them/bash them when your dick isn't in control.
Also WBB hasn't had anything new in months and there hasn't been any big word on when it's coming back.
>>79161105
This is what happens when CN is incompetent and do those "bombs". Now it's on hiatus and there's nothing to talk about so the general resorts to discussions of some kemoshota doujin. The only positive thing I can say about /wbb/ general is that it's not /gfg/ where all they talk about is gay chubby chasing and children's feet while posting NSFW content.
>>79151301
Do you have an account with g.e-hentai?
>>79151301

>>79135288
Because twee SOL will be popular for the next decade. WBB won't be considered the earliest or best of its kind, but it'll be looked upon fondly. If you were to compare CN's cartoons to old sitcoms, it would be another Perfect Strangers.

As far as western animation goes, it's the most aggressively contemporary thing out there, but even then it just mirrors our aggressively contemporary lives. That's not to say that every episode is like "#yoloswag retweet this vine on YouTube for meme bucks now let's get vegan froyo bro" but it doesn't shy away from these things in an attempt to be timeless. Of course, this internet culture is new to us as its represented here in a slice of life cartoon so there is a negative reaction, but give it a decade and not only will it serve as a time capsule and it'll still be relatable on some level. I'm sorry to say that internet meme culture is the future.

Actually, what the fuck do people do at Comic Con? I've never been to any cons before. Closest thing here is something called Radcon but it looks anything but rad.
>>79174510
Before it was a place for comic book geeks to meet and greet their favorite writers and artists as well as meet some new ones as everyone displays their work. Now it's the place to go to see people like Seth McFarlane in a Family Guy panel while companies try to advertise what they want to be the new hotness. It features /v/ and /co/ related stuff that's trying to get off the ground... that gets drowned out by the mainstream Sony, Wizards of the Coast, and of course the big two and their movies. Mostly you want to go with a few friends because if you bring too many people you're going to have a bad time navigating the crowd.
>>79174869
