So I saw Creed earlier and I'm suddenly really excited for the Black Panther movie because Creed was stellar. Ryan Coogler's direction was so goddamn good and the depth and breadth he gave an inherently populist (and unpretentious) movie was totally unexpected.
I'm not much of a Black Panther fan but I feel if Coogler can do this with what is effectively Rocky 7 he's gonna do great things with BP and a Marvel-Disney budget and backing.

Almost likeRocky?I think technically there are just some great moments in the film you cannot fault, and when it comes to personal inclinations there's a real grab bag of stuff to appeal to different folks.
I'm not one for all this #OscarsSoWhite shit but after seeing the movie there is no real reason Coogler doesn't have a Best Director nom. A nomination for Best Editing wouldn't be undeserved either although Mad Max feels like a shoe-in there.
