Kilgrave was an incredibly thrilling and suspenseful villain and season two will need more of that to keep interest. Despite the fact that she has superpowers, she still felt helpless through half the season and that's what made it interesting. She couldn't just punch her villain to death, she actually how to out think him and use his hubris against him. I think that's why most people enjoyed the first season, from a dramatic standpoint. Season two will need this.
I just don't think IGH is a good hook. What is this company going to do that's any different from say, Hydra?

She finds out about more IGH scientists, among whom Herbert Wyndham and Jonathan Drew. She goes to find them, but instead finds the daughter of one of these scientists, also called Jessica who they also experimented on when she was dying, just like was done to herself, Killgrave, etc. This other Jessica doesn't know about her father and is also looking for answers, so she decides to help. Also, at some point IGH releases Nuke or he goes rogue and causes a lot of damage and goes after Jessica and Trish.

Purple Man was kind of a goofy villain, for a very long time. Like a lot of superpowers that Stan Lee came up with back in the 60s, he spent about 30 seconds thinking about them before telling the artist what to do. It wasn't until Bendis wrote Alias that people realised that his abilities not only make him a serious threat, but also make for a real fucked up character, and anyone he encounters will get fucked up.
