Yellow seems pretty popular here. I love the hand and hair too but the eyes on the Sabertooth Tiger helmet look kinda like a sad/lazy faced cartoon tiger and the shading on the yellow outfit looks kinda green and less pleasant to me. It has both pros and cons I guess.
For me Black has the best manly shoulders, his hand positions are kinda lame but his helmet design, size and position (doesn't collide with the belt like Red Ranger) are all top notch.

Heisei have been hitting it out of the park with most of their recent shows, but there's still something to be said for the Showa stuff. The original Kamen Rider series hasn't been completely subbed (to be fair, it's 99 episodes long) but you could always check out the first couple of episodes, just to get a feel for the franchise.
That said, the most beloved Showa series are V3, Amazon and Black. Just be aware that the fight scenes in Amazon tend to get pretty fucked up... like, REALLY fucked up.

Ever since Stronger was subbed it pretty much took the spot of best Showa. Black for all it's bluster of being 'dark' and 'mature' is actually worse in many respects to the previous series (Black always having to call his bike to save him every single episode, the same two attacks at the end of every episode).
In general it comes down to original, Stronger, and Amazon. Nobody even likes V3 that much anymore. Toei themselves shit on him in GP.

Actually /toy/ sales were spectacular for Ohranger, it's the show ratings that were bad. Granted, Ohranger kinda muscled in on /toy/ sales by being the second series with two main combining mecha, in addition to a bunch of other support mechas and a carrier mecha. Its what kept the show alive while the ratings sank.
