New update on the Databank:

"The Z-6 Jetpack was the preferred jetpack of Mandalorian commandos across the galaxy, from the more organized sects like Death Watch to the outliers on the fringe, like Jango Fett and Boba Fett."

Jango and Boba are Mandalorians again. Now everyone can stop worrying. And by "everyone", I mean no one.

Against what Lucas/Filoni said, and what Pablo tweeted just weeks ago? Nah, just seems like someone overlooked poor wording.

For one thing, Jango and Boba aren't Mandalorian commandos, a commando is a special forces soldier. The Fett's aren't in any kind of military group, they're just Bounty Hunters.

I'll fess up and admit I am wrong if the upcoming Concord Dawn episode changes anything though, but I am honestly not holding my breath.

As someone who has never watched this series I have a few questions, if some anon would be so kind as to answer:

1) is it any good at all? I love Star Wars but have an autistic disgust for the prequels. If this could somehow convince me to actually give a shit about Anakin, boy that'd be great.

2) So does the alien chick die? I mean she has to die, right? Otherwise, in TFA, Luke being the last jedi is totally pointless. But also, isn't she the protagonist? So how are they supposed to kill her?

That doesn't change the fact that she's not a jedi, nor is she considered apart of the Jedi order, she's just a neutral force user at this point, what she does with her powers doesn't make her Jedi nor Sith.
>>
>>79037353
Well I will agree that even in the rough you can still find diamonds. Even the worst episodes offer something. Meebur Gascon brought us Gregor, Clone Bromando. The Artoo/Threepio adventures in diversion gave us poor Wolff's headache over droids and some people really liked that magic fairy frog lady. And they murdered that one meebur gascon sized thing.
And at the very least the worst can actually make you appreciate the good even more.

But then the purpose of the chart is to whittle it down to the generally accepted gems because there are some people who refuse to watch anything else. That's who the chart was made for. People who would never watch it all (especially if it's a Jar Jar episode).
>>

During Return of the Jedi Darth Vader talks about Obi-wan trying to turn him back to the light side because there is good in him.
Nothing like that happened in Revenge of the Sith.

There is some room to have Obi-wan/Vader scenes in rebels.
>>
>>79037647
That's not what this conversation is about and you know it. Aside from Tarkin's or Yoda's words about the Jedi being completely extinct, there is no logical reason why they wouldn't have been in the OT to help Luke and the Rebellion if Ahsoka, Kanan and Ezra were still alive during Luke's training. On the contrary, there is no reason to keep them alive. It would just be forced fanservice, like keeping Han alive would've been only to give us a later reunion. It wouldn't be good storytelling.
>>
>>79037773
Who said ANYTHING about her staying alive or not?

>>79037759
>Nothing like that happened in Revenge of the Sith

>>
>>79037759
>Nothing like that happened in Revenge of the Sith.
Exactly as it did here? No, but that doesn't mean Obi-Wan didn't try to talk some sense into him multiple times throughout their encounter on Mustafar. You really need to learn how to examine dialogue. Not everything needs to be literal.
>>
>>79037647
Her root training is still a strong Jedi foundation and she certainly still affiliates with them. And at this point you can self-identify with the Jedi. It means very little. There is no Order, no Council, not even any temples left that aren't abandoned (except for apparently this one with some kind of Jedi cultist dudes). It's Filoni's main point on Luke being called the Last of the Jedi. He's the only one left with two direct links to the Order, chosen by fate, the Force, and the Grand Master of the old Order.

Not really arguing with you, more curious in exploring this situation. Seems that now that TFA is out the periphery materials will start exploring some of its foundation. One of these, I suspect, will be a broader exploration of the Force, including ancient aspects, which we've seen and will see more of in Rebels, and modern interpretations. Namely the way the Rebel Alliance says, "May the Force be with you/us". It makes sense that facing such a massive, unrelenting foe as the Empire certain Rebels who know the Jedi exist still trust in the Force, while others just need to believe there is something mystical backing them up, giving them an edge over their enemies. Times may be rough now but it will see them to deliverance, even by miracle.

I suspect the comics may start to explore this, especially this Church of the Force that existed as an underground faith during the Dark Times of the Empire. I wonder what this church does. Do they wear necklaces bearing the symbol of the Jedi Order secreted on their person and kiss them before battle?
>>
>>79036387
But what if he was in some sort of fiery crash and was disfigured by it?
>>
>>79037841

>>
>>79037780
Every time someone says that Ahsoka, Kanan and Ezra should die in Rebels, some fanboy mentions how they are totally not real Jedi which would imply that they could still be alive during the OT. But that would be dumb.

>>
>>79037885
I don't fully agree with those people, but it does seem kind of convenient that Disney lined them all up to not be true Jedi. Just seems a bit too calculated.
>>
>>79037885
So pure assumptions, I see.
>>
>>79037908
No one is saying the scene is writen well but theres some pretty obvious subtext of Obi-wan trying one last time to turn Anakin back.
>>
>>79037882
They wear the guard masks and yellow blades, but no clue. The Jedi Temple guards, after all, had their own foundation in ancient traditions/dress of the Jedi Order. These can look like them and not be survivors from the temple. Hell, they might not even have any connection to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. Imagine a remote temple still in operation, sequestered from the rest of the galaxy for hundreds or even thousands of years until discovered by the Rebels. That's a possibility, at least.

At any rate the temple guard were already very, ahem, cult like. Their masks hide their identity as they are considered as sacrificing their own interest in self in favor of the Order. It's considered quite an honorable profession, the ultimate symbol, in some ways, of devotion to the Order. "Cult" is an unflattering word for it, but that's rather what it would look like to outsiders. They take the notion of service to the whole over self much farther than the other Jedi.
>>
>>79037966
Might as well back some of that up with a source in case anyone wants to know:

>>
>>79037966

>>
>>79037908
No one's saying Obi-Wan did a good job of it, but it is there. You just decided to skip over every other piece of dialogue where he's trying to reason with Anakin - though much of it is chastisement.
>>
>>79038016
They could have been guarding outpost temples. The Jedi used to use satellite temples, like those on Lothal, so that Jedi would have places of worship (they can mediate anywhere but temples are founded on areas exceptionally strong in the Force which amplify the experience), camaraderie, or access to kyber crystals.

The fact that this temple was overlooked by the Empire is odd. Maybe that lends credence to the idea that these are a splinter group that even the main Jedi forgot about, or these are Jedi who retreated from active temples to ancient, forgotten ones. Maybe they built a new temple for themselves. Or maybe they are survivors of the Jedi who have rededicated themselves to some ancient, martial form that finds it's same roots in the philosophy behind the Temple Guard. Maybe when they Jedi were at war with the Sith, before the reorganization of the Republic 10000 years ago (mentioned in some detail in the Tarkin novel) the Jedi's more militaristic incarnation appeared very much like the temple guard. That would be interesting. After the supposed ancient defeat of the Sith the Jedi rededicated themselves to peacekeeping, foreswearing their warrior days against the Sith.
>>
>>79037936
>>79038030
Vader thinks Obi-Wan was there to kill him and he drew his lightsaber first then cut him to pieces.

20+ years later how does that change into him remembering Obi-wan saying things like "I feel the good in you, the conflict." and acting like Luke?
>>
>>79038016
Seems it's mostly a practical thing, too, and a clever one. Showing Jedi wearing face concealing masks means they can show a large number of different potential characters without having to design and animate individuals. It's basically Jedi version of Clone or Stormtroopers.

Seeing how poorly they designed Yoda...I really hope that Yoda is somehow a placeholder but it probably isn't.

I wonder why Luke seems surprised when Vader orders the search for Luke's companions. Surely he knew that his bluff about being alone wouldn't be believed. Was it because Vader asked that they be brought before him rather than summarily executed?

Might not even be what Vader said but maybe something Luke felt. When he said he sensed the conflict in his father, maybe this was one of those times if he sensed Vader's reluctance towards wholesale slaughter. It's possible, at least. Vader does seem changed after ESB. He doesn't murder Piett or even threaten him after the latter swore the Falcon was disabled. He went very easy on the dude overseeing the Death Star's construction, using the Emperor as a threat over any threats of his own.

I'm not sure if it is the "most" emotional scene in Star Wars, but I certainly think Han's death scene is the best emotional scene in the franchise. Many characters have been killed off in Star Wars and killing off the "mentor character" in the first part of a trilogy is like a tradition, but Han Solo was one of the most beloved characters in Star Wars and now we saw him being killed by his own son. The scene had probably the best acting in all of Star Wars, the cinematography and the subtlety were amazing and Kylo's "Thank you" was just the perfect icing on the cake. This scene will certainly become iconic and Kylo's deed will haunt him for the rest of his life, no matter what's going to happen to him in the future.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXrfMXkQjz4

Other than that, I'd say the burning homestead in ANH, "I am your father", Luke almost killing Vader in ROTJ and the funeral pyre on Endor were also very emotional scenes. Then there are Obi Wan's "You were my brother" on Mustafar and Fives's death, if we want to include prequel content too.

It's been talked about before, at some excessive length. Sadly a lot of the archives of these threads seem to have been lost when the old archive shat its pants. I seem to recall the old archiver saying he'd lost months worth of threads even with backups.

Anyway some of the highlights I recall is that they wouldn't have sent Kanan or Ezra or especially Ahsoka anywhere near Endor. Even Luke was risky as he said when he was sure he and Vader were sensing each other. There's no reason the Ghost couldn't have participated in the later space battle, just off camera, or since it's such a big galaxy with so many imperial targets they could have had other business.

My personal favorite Bad End scenario is that the Rebels actually do survive to the OT. They follow through a separate mission to save the children of the Force from the Empire and train them in secret for the time when Luke can defeat Vader and the Emperor. They set up a new secret temple in the one place where it can be protected by their greatest supporter ... Bail Antilles and Alderaan. Just a few extra voices crying out in terror and suddenly silenced.

But even if they do survive, say the above scenario happens only they are on a more remote location, maybe another ancient, forgotten temple, they'd still get Bad Ended by Kylo Ren.

Pottery, irony, whatever.

>Surely he knew that his bluff about being alone wouldn't be believed. Was it because Vader asked that they be brought before him rather than summarily executed?

No, it's rooted in the previous movie and the Emperor's comment upon his arrival at the Death Star II:

"And now I sense you wish to continue your search for young Skywalker."

From there on, much of Vader and Palpatine's dialogue revolves around whether or not Luke will come to them. Luke senses Vader aboard the Executor upon their arrival on Endor, saying that he was endangering the mission and shouldn't have come. As long as he stayed on Endor, he was endangering the group and the mission. Luke went to Vader knowing that Vader was only really there for him. Vader's saying to bring the rest of Luke's friends to him was obviously passing Luke's bluff, but it was also returning the Empire to its mission onworld. A Rebel strike team had penetrated the shield and landed on Endor and were still unaccounted for. They were a risk so long as they were free to roam

I think VII's soundtrack suffered a bit from the different orchestra, but it was still very good. I didn't like it when I watched the movie for the first time, but now I think at least Rey's and Kylo's theme are worthy additions the the rest of the saga score.
Kylo's theme gives off some fallen angel vibes which I think is perfect for a conflicted villain and a dark Jedi.

VII's soundtrack is MUCH better on repeat viewings. I was surprised how much more impressive it sounded after being initially underwhelmed too. The main problem is that it doesn't have any truly unique, instantly catchy themes like the prequels had, apart from Rey and Kylo's themes, of course. It complements the movie well, but it just didn't have that edge to put it over to greatness.

The whole duel sequence or the energy fields/generator pit duels at the end? If the former, I feel Duel of the Fates contributes a critical piece to the whole there. Without it, the duel just wouldn't work as well. Arresting still, but you'll always feel as if something is missing. George was perhaps the perfect collaborator when it concerned John Williams.

The silent generator pit sequence was perfect, though, just with that ghostly ambiance.

Anyone who thinks Ahsoka will die in Rebels better prepare their anus for maximum firepower when Darth Felon'i and his dark cowboy hat give us a new cartoon set after the fall of Luke's order that has old Master Tano leading a scrappy group of surviving padawans against the naughty First Order.

After all, there were people who swore she had to die in TCWs since she didn't show up in Episode III. Gird your colon, you're going to feel like the sarlacc has had it's way with you for a thousand years when Filoni is done with you.

Because it's the easiest and frankly cheapest way to drag Obi-Wan into Rebels. Maybe even Luke too if Maul senses that the boy is somehow important to Kenobi. As long as Luke doesn't know who rescued him exactly (something that happened in the comics) they're fine.

Of course there is nothing to suggest Luke and Obi-Wan never met before ANH. In fact Luke recognizes him. Maybe from the stories, maybe he actually saw him. As long as the acquaintance isn't too deep and certainly no training.

It's still debatable. Dooku had only been using the dark side for ten or so years, and Kylo probably less than that. And there's always the theory that Sheev's face had already been degrading, he was just using some force trick to hold it together (which is why the lightning didn't melt Luke's face). And he would've likely taught Dooku that trick.

There are other characters like Talzin that are a little more sketchy, but if Snoke was using the dark side during the Clone Wars, then that's a good 50 years of evil. I can buy that rotting your flesh over such a long period a lot more than Bioware's "I kicked a puppy, now my face has instant-villain-herpes."

The difference is that Aksoka's death in TCW would've basically come out of nowhere. She would've died because of order 66, not because her personal arc would've required her to die.
Now they're building up her death scene as the final conclusion to her character arc similar to what Abrams did with Han Solo in VII. It's her destiny to confront her old master and we all know how this is likely going to end.

Not sure about some of the ideas people have regarding the Rebels cast or any surviving Jedi in the OT era. Does Leia knowing of other Jedi matter? Not really, she knew about Obi-Wan after all. That was the reason she went to Tatooine.

As far as the comics are concerned they won't interfere with the ongoing cartoon, so you'll never really have any more than vague references at best. Aftermath mentioning that Wedge was recruited into the Alliance by Fulcrum, for instance. Or probably just a rebel group since the Alliance as a collective organization doesn't even exist yet in Rebels.

Meanwhile Obi-Wan and Yoda won't mention any other Jedi to Luke because they aren't part of his path. Luke is supposed to allow for the Return of the Jedi after he faces Vader alone. Even they weren't going to help Luke in his last trial. In the latest comic Obi-Wan even used his ghost whispering to Luke prior to ESB to tell him that it was too soon for him to be dicking around in ancient Jedi Temples. Ghost Obi-Wan and Yoda (and technically Qui-Gon) are all on their own time table as their own part in Luke's destiny. Luke isn't mean to become some kind of proxy Jedi General and his training is meant to come at very certain times.

And frankly even in Rebels it's clear that neither Kanan nor Ezra expect Ahsoka to do more than be an ally. Rex stepped in on the boy's training, but Ahsoka is leaving them to their own devices - for now.

If there are ever any interactions during the OT between Luke and the Rebels we'll probably never know, and we certainly won't know until Filoni is ready to tell us. And Filoni barely says any secrets, not even to those people working with him. Just ask Freddie Prinze.

Well it's clear you've never read the comics or even watched ANH. Luke knows OF Ben, we don't know that the know each other and Ben didn't even share any secrets of Luke's past until after the sand people attack. In the comics he rescues Luke after the boy refuses to put up with thugs sent by Jabba to collect "water tithes" and Luke doesn't know who saved him. Later on we're supposed to get more insights from Kenobi's journal that details why Uncle Owen won't let Luke be trained and refuses to even let the two interact. Owen doesn't want Luke anywhere near Kenobi.

Obi-Wan was Luke's secret guardian his entire life and did things for Luke that are only being discovered now after Ben is dead. Luke, however, is more pissed that the journals don't share any Jedi secrets or training.

The largest thing protecting the Rebels is that they are on DisneyXD where things can't get too violent. They won't do a kid's show with a Dark Side ending as canon.

That's not how it works. The Jedi ones do die. Hera, Sabine, Zeb, and Chopper could very well live and it would contradict nothing. But Ahsoka, Kanan, and Ezra will not. >Yoda knows of Kanan and Ezra, he would not say what he says to Luke if they yet lived.
Yoda tells Luke what he fells Luke needs to know. He didn't tell Luke about his sister or father right away either.

Put it this way, Yoda knowing about Ezra and that the boy has his own problems actually makes it unlikely Yoda will throw him anywhere near Luke's destiny. Luke had enough shit going on and one helluva challenge in his future that ultimately he had to face alone. Remember that there was at least one other Jedi when Luke faced Vader in ESB, Yoda himself, but Yoda stayed out of it and barely anybody questioned a much more seasoned and powerful Jedi Master is staying out of things.

There is no reason for their paths to converge. As for Obi-Wan and Leia, her dad sent her after a high level member of the old Jedi Council during what they knew was their darkest hour against the Death Star. He easily trumps Ahsoka, Kanan, and Ezra in terms of providing hope against such a trial.

As it turned out there was an even greater New Hope that neither Leia nor Bail knew about who saved the day.

Ahsoka has more complete training than Kanan. She was Anakin Skywalker's own padawan through much of the Clone Wars. Kanan got a crash course at the very end, then stopped using his Jedi powers for years as he had to abandon what he was as Caleb and truly become Kanan.

Ahsoka, however, has expressed that she feels that he is more Jedi than she is at the moment. Whether this is in terms of old rules, since last we know she was kicked out of the Order, or something to do with the separate path she is on. Who knows. Filoni works in mysterious ways.

Didn't they replace dying/death with being sent to the "Shadow Realmâ„¢"? I seem to recall it was another infamous 4kids dub, but I never watched it.

The latest season features people getting turned into cards forever, and begging for their life on their knees as it is happening. Also the genocide of an entire world, while the people doing the genocide turn it into a sport.

Didn't the old EU have Maul going after young Luke? Or was that someone else?
>>
>>79040961
Maybe. Shattered Empire showed that Naboo was completely demilitarized by the Empire, though, so I can't imagine they would ever be protected by anything other than standard TIE fighters and other Imperial ships, which forbid unique ornamentation or paint jobs by regulations.

Of course he missed the old stash of Naboo fighters left over from The Phantom Menace which still manage to kick TIE Fighter ass.

That show is still going on? Trading card/battle deck games were never my thing, but that actually surprises me. Pokemon, of course, is eternal. Not even fire will scrub it clean of this Earth.
>>
>>79041015
Yeah.
I think that was the debut of his chicken legs, which TCW took as inspiration.

It's SNAKE EYES

An early design for the Interceptor is the best i can guess from it
>>
>>79041015
I think so? There were a couple of different versions of Maul's survival and eventual death in the EU, some of them even What Ifs. I don't feel like pulling up The Wook which of course will have every Legends aspect covered in ridiculous details.

It's obviously tactical genius Meebur Gascon in droid battle armor based on some of Grievous' anti-Jedi capacity.
>>
>>79036984
Of course George did everything first.

George shot first.
>>
>>79041117
Speaking of Meebur Gascon, do you think we'll ever see him appear as an Imperial general or something? Maybe driving an interrogation droid with WAC as his Star Destroyer pilot?
>>
>>79036990
I want this just so we can hit nuSW for cribbing from the EU again, specifically Dark Empire, Young Jedi Knights Season 2 (wait, wasn't that a fake clone emperor? CHOPPER!!!) etc etc etc...

More likely to see Jar Jar show up as a Rebel general

Snoke looks like a bomb went off on the left side of his face. Torn flesh, collapsed and missing bone, a big split in the skull, ear torn to a nub, it looks like it was all one thing on that side of the body. Maybe a fire instead?
>>
>>79041242
You say that like it'll never happen, but Filoni likes Jar Jar and is on the same page as George.
>>
>>79041317
Snoke wasn't hurt by anything physical.
His degredation is due to the Dark Side.

It's pottery, remember?

He looks physically bad because that Dark Side corrupts and withers
>>
>>79041317

I'm pretty confident he took a lightsaber to the face.

My theory is Snoke is strong enough with the dark side that he is capable of a superpowered version of force heal, and can survive wounds that should kill him 10 times over including powerful explosions and fires. I'm waiting for the heroes to fight him and gawk when someone runs a lightsaber through him to no effect.
>>
>>79041317
I get the impression that it's meant to be like he's basically this ancient, rotting corpse yet somehow still alive. Like the dark side is all that's keeping him from death, similar to Darth Sion. His skin is icy white like the color of a dead person's after their blood drains away.

Galaxy of Heroes is the shit. Just get on daily to get your drops, and then do daily activities, if you play it right you can sim the majority of them in about 5 minutes.

Don't do like I did and focus on getting cool characters, just upgrade those you have and characters will come in steadily.

Yeah I'm can play it for like half an hour every morning and get what I want, then recap in the afternoon.

I'm on the path to getting Darth Vader and Count Dooku without paying for anything.

Uprising would've been amazing if it had been a true Diablo style PC game. It is hampered by extreme repetition, no variety, and all the other cancerous sins of a mobile game and as a result isn't fun to play because the grind is too absurd and the gameplay too simple. It's motivated by greed, not the desire to be a good game, and it shows. Galaxy of Heroes is better because it is a mobile game that isn't pretending to be more and is more respectful of the player's time.

I'm going with the "took a lightsaber to the face but survived thanks to dark side hax"

It's surprising how hopefully the TCWs ended considering it was about to enter Episode III. The series finale on CN wasn't planned as the series ending until the Disney sale but however bittersweet it ended with Ahsoka leaving, walking down the stairs in nearly the same shot that Anakin would later walk up them during Operation Knightfall. As Ahsoka left the sky was apparently late evening, showing that she left before "nightfall".

The actual ending they managed in season 6 on Netflix somehow ended on an even more hopeful note and reiteration that through the coming darkness they must never lose hope. It took over twenty years for that hope to present itself but it still happened.

TCW ends hopefully so that that ROTS can punch you in the heart as much as possible
>>
Holy shit cAnon, that timeline is way bigger than I expected, thanks
>>
>>79041601

Vader is the endgame for doing the achievements, I play it on my lunch at work and get most of my shit done. I bought 2,800 shards when Kylo Ren was being touted big, and I got a Resistance Pilot and character shards, I was fucking fuming.

Galactic War is the dream when you have enough characters, you can just auto every match and complete them all in about 10 minutes and get ~400K a day.
>>
What I found interesting about Snoke is that he acts kinda like a father figure to Kylo and Hux. Sheev has always been an asshole to his apprentices and servants, but the First Order leadership looks almost like a dark side family.
