This premieres in a half-hour. I know it skews younger than most cartoons /co/ likes, but I still think it has potential. I like how they're not completely discarding The Lion King 2, since Kovu, Nuka and Vitani were announced to be returning for an episode later on. I also like how the show doesn't pull any punches and actually talks about the carnivores eating the herbivores and things like that. I know that may not be much, but a lot of people were predicting a completely watered-down preschool cartoon.

My reactions are to the first episode, as an old fag, this the closest thing to 90s animated show I have seen. Having songs in a show the way they had them felt nostalgic.
I think the lion king in general is overhyped and it's amazing Don Han is making it for all the dollars.
It should have been Kiara's kid instead of brother. But the recon of Kiara and emphasis on simba and kion makes this a boys show...and follows bad female tropes. I think the production is actually way better then I was expecting, and it has some interesting parts...I just wished it hadn't fucked with the story so much because of making relatable to little boys.
