As much as I like the clones in the series, Battlefront 2's interpretation was much better than bio-chips and hypnosis.

That's sort of how I viewed it.
Personally, I viewed the chips as a redundancy measure; a fail-safe. 99% of clones will follow orders as told. But there will always be a few who won't comply. And when dealing with Jedi one or two unsure clones can mean the difference between them being killed and getting away. I doubt ol' Sheev would risk it, so the chips were installed.
At least, that's how I rationalized it.

Clones were always the best because they could actually die.
It was always the most investing part of the episodes, seeing if the clones would make it or not.
Was always nice when the main characters would get out intact with one or two unimportant clones in white. Made me feel a little happy.
