Why is this so fucking shit lately? It starts out fantastically! The premise is interesting, everything is moving really quickly, and there's a clear character struggle going on, what with the MC freaking out over her fear of animals and having made a deal without even realizing what she was doing. The art was also extremely expressive with gorgeous background detail without being over-designed.
Now it seems like pages are moving WAY too slowly with nothing interesting happening, and the MC and all the interesting characters are taking a backseat to boring highschool shenanigans. I get that developing characters is good and all, but you can do that through action as well! Not to mention a lot of the character designs lately look over-designed and while I can't figure out why, the comic looks more...Tumblr? I think early comic looks a lot better than it does now.

I think it started out fine. There were clear and defined characters, and there importance was shown from the getgo. There were conflicts and curious events unfolding and things setup that looked like they'd be important later, from the MC's fear of animals to Damian's angry outbirst to the shield protecting the school somehow getting breached by demons. But then the comic just quickly had the MC get over her fears, starting doing character switching all the time taking away from the reader a character to latch onto, and no new interesting significant developments have occurred. I'm sure Vivienne could actually make it better and more focused and everything would be just fine. She could completely ignore her fuckups and make the story more focused again. But she hasn't.

The character designs all have the same "emotion" It's busy, edgy, full of thin shapes. They differ inside their own paradigm so you can tell if one is supposed to be more soft or relaxed, but outside of context the characters are very similar in nature. It's desperate and annoying. You say it's not cynical but it definitely feels more like someone trying to ride the coattails of someone famous by hoping they share her work on their social media causing her to get "mega e-famous" with little effort rather than just the desperate clamorings of a big fan.
Like, if she got personalized handwritten letters from Kesha stating how much she loved her video but said please, do not mention this letter to anyone, she would probably say fuck that and post it all over her Tumblr.
She literally craves attention because she has nothing else going for her. She isn't talented enough to be in the animation industry working on shows or making her own show, she doesn't have good enough connections to weasel her way her, and she's not a good enough writer where her comics grow in popularity. Literally all she has is "style" and dumb people thinking lots of frames = good animation, so she only draws and does what she thinks will make her popular.
That's probably why her comic has decreased in updates while she's been releasing constant animation videos. Those get more attention than her comics. She only cares about instant gratification and views, not long term reputation or drawing what actually makes you happy.
