Kamala is the one that's a true newbie. Hell, technically Nova and Miles had already been Avengers before this. Nova was made an honorary Avenger at the end of AvX and then an official one during AXIS. Miles became an Ultimate (an Avengers equivalent) briefly during Ultimate Civil War and then officially during Cataclysm.

It's actually not an issue anymore than crime in general is. White on white crime happens all the time (Somewhere in the range of 90%+) but noone frames it the same way they frame any intraracial crime between blacks. Most of America is still highly segregated.
