>we have the power of gods
>let us fight with mechas
>>78945951
Damn this issue sucked.
>>78945955
Can you blame them?
>>78945959
>>78945967
>>78945978
>>78945963
Not at all
>>78945841
SO this story will obviously end with T'Challa somehow restoring Wakanda to its former glory
>>78945991
>RICHARDDSSS
>>78945991
What a shit ending.
>Hackman dude won
>>78945991
>RICHAAAAAAAARDSS
>>78945994
I didn't know it had lost it
>>78945963
>>78945955
They did it better in Infinity Gauntlet.
>>78946005
>>78945951
>>78946005
Owen's cool, but Maker didn't matter in the end.
>>78946019
Susan´s tits looked great during Secret Wars.
>>78946015
It's a desolate wasteland with no Vibranium and everybody's dead, so yeah, it did lose it
>>78946027
I hated this.
>>78945828
Was here for Avengers v5 #1 (and F4 before that), I'll finally be able to see how this ends.
>>78946037
>>78945921
>>78945910
these two pages look too different
>>78946023
Most of the characters didn't matter.
>>78946019
>>78946027
>NARUTOOOOOOOOOO
>SASUKEEEEEEEEEE
>>78946046
>>78946053
Owen was the best part of all this desu
>>78946046
>Doom BTFO
One of the worst Marvel events ever.
>>78946066
Just like Secret Wars II
>>78946061
I'm not to good with the time travel but why would the time gem that only controls time in this one spot in battleworld take him to 616 past?
>>78946076
This is, objectively, one of the best marvel events ever.
>>78945991
I don't care who's writing Doom or what the storyline's about, there's never a bad time for a RICHAAAAARDSSSS!
>>78946046
Haha oh jesus
>>78946053
>Doom is part of the SFX
kek
>>78946079
>>78946079
It's likely that the time gem in question is the 616 time gem
>>78946079
I KNEW IT >>78945994
>>78946093
And now, for Hickman's favourite trick: recycling an entire script!
>>78945924
Perfect.
>>78945910
Such pottery.
>>78945955
Exactly what I would do with the power of a god.
>>78946093
>>78946101
but weren't the other gems destroyed I imagine that since they are intact here it was another set. Strange even mentioned how hard it was to find a place with all of them.
>>78946125
>>78946136
>>78946125
Oh right I forgot they were destroyed
>>78946125
It's possible that the gems reconstituted themselves after they shattered and before the final incursion, the idea of the Infinity Gems being destroyed for good is ludicrous.
>>78945910
Hickman is really bad at writing women.
>>78946136
>Our Alpha Flight
So in other words, Carol stole a black man's idea
>>78946027
awful page
>>78946158
He stole it from Canada first.
>>78946158
I thought canada had the first alpha flight
>>78946165
If only the eyes lined up
>>78946125
>>78946136
Isn't this the role Wakanda is taking in the movieverse? Was all of this just to retcon Wakanda for the movies or am I being super dumb?
>>78946169
>>78946173
T'Challa just stole the name, but the concept was his and then Carol took all the credit
>>78946144
Imagine if he gave him a fresh burger
>>78945951
Ultimate Reed continues to be an enormous faggot.
>>78945910
>>78945978
Goddamn Sue and Val were such an afterthought in this story...
>>78946190
>Isn't this the role Wakanda is taking in the movieverse?
Wakanda has ALWAYS benn a super-science society. And we have no indication that Wakanda will be involved in space in the MCU. So yes, you're being super dumb
>>78946193
>phenomenal godly power
>can't be bothered delivering miracle burgers to his source of power
>>78945991
>RICHARDDSSS!
wew lad
>>78946015
He knows he can kill.
>>78946193
So in other words, the only reason Miles and his loved ones are around in 616 as if they'd always been there is because Miles gave Owen a weeks old cheeseburger
>>78946193
>>78946206
I knew they were always super advanced, wasn't sure about the "WE SPACE NOW, HONKEYS!!" thing.
>>78946193
>Miles is the only Ultimate hero to survive the universe merger
>because we gave Owen an expired hamburger
POTTERY
>>78946042
Poorly.
>>78946220
Cheeseburgers are the key to all this.
>>78946125
I'm not sure it mattered what set they were because everything left of reality was being wiped out at that instant. The only thing that mattered was that it was a workable Gem. He clearly went back in time to a world created by the FF and Owen Reece.
>>78946222
>>78946193
So the entire reason Miles survived his universe's destruction is that he was somehow able to carry around an entire cheese burger in his suit for months?
>>78946240
What an awful splash page. I was expecting a great pic of Pete and Miles...
>>78946240
>>78946241
technically years
>>78946169
Wakanda invented Canada thousands of years ago.
>>78946222
>Brought Miles' mom back from the dead
Nice one, Owen... Though this basically means Miles' whole evolution as a hero is now non-canon
>>78946193
I can't believe we got SpiderMILF again because of a cheeseburger
>>78946252
I could believe that
>>78946249

>>78945951

>>78946250
Man ribic gave Val too nice of an ass.
>letting a kid dream up universes
Seems like he would do silly things with it
>>78946260
At least Miles still remembers it
>>78946260
It was a shit arc, you know it, I know it
that's it? really?
>>78946250
>Recycling Heroes Reborn plot devices
HOUSE OF IDEAS
>>78946272
>>78945858
Doom is the T-1000?
>>78946272
>letting a kid dream up universes
>Seems like he would do silly things with it
Well it explains why Gwenpool is a thing.
>>78946281
>>78946272
This bit is the only slightly clever bit
>>78946260
The life raft survivors probably remember everything.
>>78946272
Holy shit that face in the second panel.
>MOM I'M A SCARED MONKEY
>>78946272
>Man ribic gave Val too nice of an ass.
He knows what's really important
That face in this second panel though
>>78946273
He probably doesn't. Black Panther forgets by the end of the page. he says as much in Ultimates 1. It's like when the 4th Celestial host came.
So what was the point of the Beyonders?
>>78946281
Remember, if there's anything shitty in the new MU. It's these guys' fault
>>78946027
This is dreadful.
>>78946288
>doing all this
>can't be assed sending a message t Johnny letting him know they're not dead
>>78946288
>>78946301
Powering up Doom and Molecule Man.
>>78946308
>>78946301
Plotonium. Shout out to the original.
>>78946301
We didn't even get a fucking motivation for their action. They had "a great experiment in mind". They wanted to see what happens when all of reality dies...
Why?
WHY?
Fuck this.
>>78946315
>everything lives
Sun God was right.
So did black swan die at some point?
>>78946281
Funny, all I've seen so far in the new Marvel Multiverse are things that already existed in the old one. These kids have no imagination.
>>78946315
And a shocking twist spoiled four months ago...
>>78946288
>black gloves
>boots are blue
the fuck is this shit
>>78946322
because they were nihilists, shit man, do you need everything spelled out for you? Use your damn imagination! Like we did when we were kids!
>>78946335
>So did black swan die at some point?
She was in the castle when giant groot destroyed it.
>>78946335
Did Doom break out into song in that last panel?
>>78946315
>>78946308
wait, doesn't this imply that susan and the kids actually died, and that reed remade them with molecule man?
>>78946335
I think Groot treeraped her to death
>>78946322
The thing I didn't like is that it felt too similar to the celestials
>>78946288
lazy background
>>78946335
>Suck on that Living Tribunal
>>78946322
They were probably really fucking bored. The 616 Beyonder was so bored that he did Secret Wars 1-2, learned how to poop and then fucked off again back into eternal boredom.
>>78946335
BRAVO HICKMAN
>>78946340
Yeah, as I read this all I can think of is how much better it would have been if it were done on time.
This is like waiting for your birthday for months as a kid and waking up to dog shit on the carpet
>>78946349
Yes
>>78946272
That fucking face on Val
Wait, so does that mean the "new" Marvel universe is actually a NEW universe?
>>78946335
I actually really, really liked this. Secret Wars was not what I expected, but it's a fitting end to the Hickman Era, and a damn good Doom/Reed Story
I don't like when Doom taking off the mask everytime
Fuck this
>>78946023
He never did. Even reduced to an edgy villain post- secret war.
>>78946335
Doom wins, all is well.
Secret Wars was good. It'll read better not spread across months, and be remembered as one of Marvel's better event stories (not that that's hard to be). But it also fell victim to most of Hickman's usual weaknesses.
>>78946308
>don't you dare invite ben and johnny you shits
>>78946346
>>78946335
Black Swan ended up being pointless.
Just like Terrax, Proxima Midnight, Corvus, Pod, Validator, Shang-Chi. Smasher, Cannonball, Falcon, Thane, the Builders, the Mapmakers and many many other things in Hickman's mega-arc ended up being completely and utterly pointless.
Even Steve and Tony didn't matter at all in the end.
I'm failing to see why this event needed all these delays and a extra issue just to stage a go nowhere fight and white panel the universe back together...
>>78946250
>>78946272
So, Secret Wars III + Heroes Reborn?
>>78946384
>Reminder that Tony and Steve had a punching contest while New York was glassed, as opposed to trying to save a single lifeI can't wait for Illuminated Wars
>another rehash
ahahahahahahahahahaha
>>78946397
Ribic's art probably
>>78946144
>THE MARVEL UNIVERSE
>THE PRIME EARTH
RIP, 616 designation
>>78946339
It's more of an excuse to ignore continuity when necessary in the Batgirlish books and to keep X-Men fans from having a meltdown by removing their 8000 different dystopian futures
Continuity when you need it and continuity when you don't.
>>78946272
>>78946250
Wow. This is horrid.
>>78946407
>I can't wait for Illuminated Wars
I was just about to post that
Are most of our problems actually with SW, or with SW as an end to the Avengers run?
Because I reckon it's mainly the latter. Reading Hickman's FF followed by Secret Wars proper would probably be great!
>>78946415
The 616 designation is still there, it's just that Tom Brevoort really hates it and prefers avoiding it
>>78946426
I can't wait for Everything is Illuminated/Marvelous to get into this.
>>78946384
There's only so many people that you can let truly matter. Especially in a story with a wide scope like Avengers (Or New Avengers, I can't remember which was the incursions and which was the shit story) it would be weird to have a cast of small characters.
Besides, at least he made some new ideas that can be used by other writers.
>>78946435
>The 616 designation is still there
It's officially gone, anon.
>>78946193
>If Peter had brought food, Owen would have undone the deal with Mephisto and kept AUnt May alive
Kind of newly awake, which fingers got chopped in #1 again?
I know that they avoided showing that hand in closeups earlier but I can't for the life of me remember which now.
>>78946335
Happy doom is so fucking scary its unreal.
>>78946444
>There's only so many people that you can let truly matter
Then why introduce so many people into the narrative in the first place?
>Besides, at least he made some new ideas that can be used by other writers.
Other than Starbrand and Pod, it doesn't look like anyone is gonna use his ideas
>>78946343
>because they were nihilists, shit man
Say what you will about the tenets of Darkseid and the Anti-Life Equation, at least it's an ethos.
>>78946462
I'm not sure fingers stay chopped on a man who can just stretch them back
>>78946444
And if Hickman was a good writer there wouldn't of been so many pointless characters and plotpoints that didn't matter.
But he's not. He's the poor man's Morrison.
>>78946475
Smasher appeared in Ultimates so she's still on the praetorian guard, she might get some focus in the future. Too bad all the current cosmic marvel sucks balls.
So 616 FF family is alive and well ( minus ben/johnny) and they're off playing good restablishing the multiverse using a modification of the beyonder's plan ( multi molucle men to power them).
Do they no longer have a running series / show up in the " prime universe"?
Any raft survivors / 616 folks remember the events?
>>78946434
No it wouldn't. Secret Wars is just the final FF issue stretched out to 9 uneventuful chapters.
Doom becomes God
His creations hate him and work to overthrow him
He manages to screw up even with divine power
Reed has to bail him out AGAIN
>>78946493
There's nothing similar about their works, you're just throwing buzzwords around.
>>78946493
>Morrison.
MUH META WANKERY!
>>78946335
Adieu, Jon. Now please get a grip on the Manhattan Projects and East of West
>>78946079
Because it wasn't really the gem, it was new overlord Reed.
>>78946357
It bugs me that people are going to praise this event now that it's over but Marvel seriously botched this relaunch big time...
>>78946136
Will they share the cure for cancer now or is that too advanced?
>>78946447
good luck re-categorizing the Earths.
This would have been a good end to a story about Reed Richards and Doctor Doom's rivalry, with Reed finally finding a healthy work/family balance and Doom finally getting over his inferiority complex.
Too bad it wasn't about that from the start and wound up being shoehorned in once Secret Wars started properly.
>>78946493
Morrison gets the same treatment though. Tons of new concepts, promptly ignored.
>>78946493
Multiversity was superior to this event. Despite its huge scope, it was still filled with genuine character and heart to the point that it could make you feel sorry for a Nazi Superman.
>>78946357
>>78946340
Then they would have had to delay everything for months. We would just be getting Iron Man #1 and a bunch of other shit. Marvel should really start early on their events so that maybe by the time they start they're either done or mostly done.
>>78946529
>Doom finally getting over his inferiority complex.
He didn't actually do that. He outright admitted that all he did was a huge vanity project so he could feel better about Reed being more brilliant than he was.
>>78946222
Wait so Miles remembers Secret Wars and his original universe?
>>78946272
Nice bulge Franklin
>>78946561
>>78946227
>>78946193
No loss. The other Ultimates were cunts.
>>78946555
Admitting it was the first step in getting over it. That's why he got a happy ending.
>>78946518
Compare to Marvel's past events, this is easily the best. Not much of an achievement considering how low the bar was initially set.
of course what actually happened is that Superman saved the day and Reed and Owen just started cleaning up their little corner of the omniverse.
>>78946341
Ribic being his usual overrated self.
>>78946611
>Supes stealing the Flash' tricks
Why doesn't Superman just vibrate through walls then, if he's so good at vibrating?
>>78946434
as an X-Men fan, SW simply didn't live up to justify an entire year without new X-Men comics, the new shitty old status quo and an 16 month time jump since Bendis never caught up to Time Runs Out.
The last one's not Hickman's fault but the five X-Men SW minis were same tired 'X-Men make a dramatic last stand against overwhelming odds' and the new books are more of the same. It's just exhausting.
the book itself was okay, not enough cool moments to justify a reread, everything cool seemed to happen off panel.
>>78946604
Acid was better (and more Fun) and had better Tie-ins
>>78946624
>Bendis never caught up to Time Runs Out.
Hell, he didn't even catch up to Axis.
I get getting conveniently rid of the Richards family while still giving them a happy ending, but it still makes no sense that
>Ben and Johnny know nothing of this so they're left moping in mourning
>the whole Future Foundation, including the Powers, goes with them never to be seen again thus taking out the very possibility of even having F4-related stories to tell
>>78946631
Yes he did, Post-Axis Havok showed up, although he didn't really act inverted like he was supposed to (just Bendis being Bendis)
>>78946631
Is Alex still evil? Is he still keeping Janet locked up in a sex dungeon? WHAT HAPPENED
>>78946642
I guarantee that Ewing will have his Ultimates team find them and then be put on a Universe Exploring Fantastic Four book.
>>78946644
That actually created a plot hole. The entirety of the Last Will of Charles Xavier happened before Wolverine's death, and it ended with Cyclops dismantling his school. Then Havok shows up a day later, even though that makes no sense sine Axis happened a while after Wolverine's death.
>>78946650
Janet showed up in Rage of Ultron, so she escaped the Sex Dungeon
>>78946663
New timeline. Last Will happened after Wolverine's death there.
>>78946604
Fair point... This is the best Marvel event in years by default...
Which leaves me SO excited for Civil War 2: Demonizing Half Your Brand Boogaloo
>>78946660
Oh that makes sense
>>78946125
The time gem was never destroyed, just vanished.
>>78946650
no one knows
>>78945828
I liked it. It wasn't the perfect event, no Marvel event is, but it was a pleasant read. I'll definitely miss Hickman's silly bullshit and Doomwankery, especially as Marvel seems to be turning away from writers with an inclination towards heavy plotting and going to more lightweight Bendis/ Leth tier people.
>>78945967
I hate Doom and Doomwank in general but I find it very odd that he's so surprised by this
Also the character spelling it out is fucking strange to
>>78946670
So Tempus preventing that kid from being born caused Wolverine's death.
BRAVO TEMPUS
so why is there as Susan in universe 8 now? and whar does Johnny and Ben remember of Reed's disappearance?
>>78946308
>>78946315
>>78946335
ok, what?
i don't get it
So just to make sure I'm on the right page, Doom could have used Franklin to start rebuilding the multiverse at any time, but was to prideful to abandon his masturbatory fantasy that was Battleworld
>>78946699
that such a big deal as a smart guy coming at you with an infinity gauntlet is 'just' the distraction is pretty remarkable
>>78946709
they're all okay.
How is the Maker alive? Is he still Ultimate Reed? Does he act the same way?
>>78946046
Oh wow
>>78946690
Except when it "Vanished" it really broke across every moment of time in the universe.
>>78946711
Maybe Battleworld Franklin wasn't as powerful as 616 Franklin?
The FF family in the epilogue are the 616 versions, not the Battleworld versions.
>>78946711
Doom didn't even need Franklin, Reed's just letting him take this role. Doom could have restored everything whenever he wanted to, he just didn't want to.
>>78945928
This looks cool at least.
Hickman, I thought for sure this book would be terrible, but it only turned out low-average. Congratulations!
>>78946709
Neither do I
>>78946629
Agreed.
>>78946711
I think the idea is that Doom saved what he could, those leftover scraps of incursion worlds that began piling up. He was afraid of losing the victory he fought so hard for so he never really tried to use Owen's Beyonder powers for anything except holding the Battleworld together. They repeat the phrase about 3 times this issue.
>>78946741
does it matter they all got powered up anyway. The future foundation ironing out the mistakes franklin makes with the universes. I'm sure they could have done it honestly I don't see why they even need more than the person with Owen's power.
so All-New All-Different is just Franklin fucking around
that's why it seems like a kid made these dumb ass decisions
>>78946629
>>78946762
>Acid
What?
You mean Sixis?
>>78946347
>Well, ive changed my mind
>I'm letting go
Let it goooooooo, let it goooooo!
>>78946709
Reed rewarded Victor for keeping Battleworld alive until he got there by restoring his face
>>78946781
That was Reed's narration.
So now that this event is over, anyone think it'll have edits like Civil War and AvX?
But how does this fit in with the gentry and ultra comics.
Will the FF have to personally fight ultra and the gentry?
>>78946800
Hickman already confirmed it in a CBR interview.
>>78946800
Illuminating Comics should have it out by next week.
>>78946783
oooh, so that's why we have handsome Victor on ANAD Iron Man
One thing I liked from this is how Reed finally realized how pointless his and Doom's rivalry was and fixed his face when recreated the main u.
Oh, and also that Miles' mom is alive. That's great. Her death was kinda pointless.
>>78946800
Illuminated guy is working on it
>>78946810
>>78946814
No, I mean like /co/ written stuff. Like Muh Phoenix.
>>78946810
Hickman... already confirmed... that people were going to edit it...?
>>78946822
Underrated page. Illuminated guy is incredibly underrated.
>>78946347
It's springtime for Victor and Latveria...
>>78946828
Illuminating Comics is from /co/ and made Muh Phoenix you stupid faggot
>>78946728
he's Ultimate Reed complete with the lower case speech bubbles, he's wasn't reincarnated into the new universe like 616-Miles, he an extradimensional survivor like Squadron Supreme and Old Man Logan.
>>78946819
But it led to his father fulfilling the prophecy of being a dead beat dad that abandoned his kid.
>>78946618
He can vibrate through walls from what I recall, I could be wrong though
>>78946084
Nope. It's objectively the worst marvel event
>>78946728
>Is he still Ultimate Reed? Does he act the same way?
Yes and yes.
>How is the Maker alive?
The Molecule Man found him somewhat indigestible.
>>78946837
Muh Phoenix wasn't made by Illuminated, it was made by Nuzlocke of Pokemon fame.
Thier humor styles are kind of different
>>78946234
Hal Jordan was right all along.
So, one big question from me that I'd appreciate thoughts on.
It seems to me like Franklin is just imagining universes with no prior knowledge - just making stuff up.
Does that mean that he is recreating (and adding) all the evil and malicious universe breaking stuff out there too?
Is he working fresh - or with the materials left from the old universes. It makes much more sense that Franklin is putting Universes back together rather than actually creating them from scratch - but this seems to be implying the opposite.
If he was creating universes then he's responsible for shit that'll appear like the cancerverse - but if he's just reconstructing it then he's saving the good with the bad. It also doesn't mean that everything we enjoyed about Marvel is eradicated - its been put back together.
This seems to be a major distinction - and I'm not sure it's clear. Thoughts?
>>78946728
the maker is the kind of guy who can get away with always having contingency plans
>>78946853
>It's objectively the worst marvel event
You clearly haven't read many events then
>>78945828
>X-Men moment: JEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAN!
Christ.
>>78946308
And Johnny and Ben are sad because they don't know WTF happened to them, this is seriously shitty.
>>78946864
He isn't fine tuning anything, he's just going
>the world I came from
>that world, but everyone is animals
>that world, but gwen stacy is spider-man
etc. He supercharges the raw idea which acts like a seed to procedurally generate the universe
>>78946869
