It's interesting that despite a few cosmetic differences all the Pearls and Rubies we've seen so far have conformed to the same basic shape.
Aside from the Diamonds and Steven it's pretty likely that all the other Gems look the same too.
If this is the case then Amethyst is pretty much unique in Gem culture, especially as it sounds like they get rid of 'overcooked' Gems once the defect is noticed.
