In Alien Force Azmuth said it was like an ark to preserve DNA in case some species went extinct. Shame the never used it to restore Cannonbolt's race. Well, >>78878598 is referring to the Unitrix - the prototype Omnitrix which sampled DNA and randomized it.
The Omnitrix itself does not. It can fuse multiple DNA samples but it can't randomize what's already there.
I.E. Ben can scan a new life form, but the Omnitrix will keep their specific DNA sequence. If the OMnitrix encounters a new sequence from the same species, it deletes it IIRC.
This is the reason whyGhostfreak broke out of the Omnitrix DNA bank, as it's consciousness was unique too it's specific DNA.

You like comics? OV is like that Morrison or Johns run that folds in all that came before and extends it. It doesn't throw out uaf, it just takes the good ideas like Argit, Multiversal Travel, The Space travel, aliens, ultimates, most bad guys etc and remakes them into better wholes. The art direction is legendary, every thing from food to tech to aliens to extras is drawn with lush creative detail, lore is expanded on from all corners, The os, af,ua, videogames, toylines, trading carss and behind the scenes factoids.
It's in general just a really amazing show,
To be warned it peteres out around the end, but still a great work of art.

Really shallow characters, was never that creative with the aliens or their powers, the man bad guy Vilgax was just a generic alien overlord type guy, no real memorable villains whatsoever, most of the concepts for everything were just derivative of comics or cartoons rehashed in an unoriginal way like the "Plumbers" and their pocket dimension prison shit, or those knights templar people who were the least intimidating secret society ever portrayed on TV.
It's a shame Ben 10 took off with because of merchandising while Megas XLR fizzled out.

To be fair, the entire premise of the show was originally supposed to be an animated adaptation of Dial H for Hero.
There's REALLY early concept art out in the internet which shows Ben's original forms being straight up Superhero pastiches.
It was scraped in favor of Aliens to add a new aesthetic to the series.

well actually the omnitrix sorta sampled ben as the base form, so when Albedo found the blueprints, he turned into ben instead of himself when he turned back from testing it. Also judging his appearance in OV which takes place 6 months after UA, Albedo demonstrates that being in a form that isn't really you will cause the form to slowly waste away. Demonstrated by his far more messing appearance and bags under his eyes.

IIRC, Albedo's omnitrix was linked to Ben's, and Ben's DNA was stored in the Omnitrix as the "default" to shift back to when it timed out.

I think Ben 10 could be like sci-fi Harry Potter. It has more creative ideas and imo the characters are more interesting like Grandpa max. There are a lot of parallels between the two, like for example both show a character aging from ten to adulthood, he has two superpowered friends, they save the world, but with Ben 10 its sci fi not magic.

Well, it kinda depends. For family oriented sci-fi I can't think of any better choices. Are there some more serious sci-fi that deserves adaptations? Probably. But as far as entertainment that anyone can enjoy, I think Ben could be great if adapted for film.
