Season 2 has been a slog and largely filler filled season where we're just going through the motions. It's a far cry from how good Season 1 was, exemplified by the fact that everyone is still talking about King Shark's 30 seconds, but not all that much else. The loss of Thawne has greatly ruined momentum of the show and everyone knows it. Jay has been utterly pointless and bringing in E2 Wells as a kind of combination of what Thawne was has been executed terribly.
Also Kevin Smith has never made a good movie in his life and his writing "skill" is abysmal.

He would've been at the hospital recovering (with cuts/stitches - resembling jigsaw (from punisher) / or frankenstein). girl coming to see him and him using his voice box to talk (cause obviously the villain did something to his original vocal chords). his friend sitting off to the side watching over him (eating as always).
a line about how he's glad to have friends such as them. then she steps out for a coffee and he looks off to the side and sees his friend, then looks down at the pad where he's practicing (finger dexterity) and makes a sketch of his friend with a pig nose and ears. he looks back at his friend eating and slightly smiles.
