One problem is the bundle of wires/tubes on the thigh, that unites the crotch to the knee:

they should be that evenly spaced only at the center of the leg, but at the bottom the space should diminish, each wire seeming closer and closer to the adjacent ones, until at the end of the curve , where the leg touches the chair, the parallel lines should be so close that they almost touch each other.

The fact that they are all always evenly spaced makes the surface look weirdly flat and skews the whole perspective in the area.
Make them legs rounder son.

Also maybe the shoulder pad on the left should be rotated away from the point of view a bit, and perhaps the legs look a bit uneven. The foreshortened one should look a bit bigger if it's closer to the point of view than the other, now it looks almost smaller, while the other leg is spread in a relaxed way in a different direction.

You could also solve this by making the non-foreshortened leg shorter, so it looks like it's in a similar position to the other one, and they're both at the same distance so that's why they have the same size.

As it is now, I think that the legs look a bit uneven: the foreshortened one looks shorter.
Playing around with the length of the other one, the size of this one a tiny tiny bit should be enough to make things look ok.

I just realized that actually the size difference is there at the knee, but for some reason, the knees look different (correctly), while the boots seem to be of equal size. So maybe only half of the shin should be resized.

I'm trying to do a redesign of my Hero's current outfit. I want to get at least 20 or so done just to explore all possibilities. I also wanted to try and use different brushes and tools to color them for extra practice.

Been looking into toonboom for doing clean up work and some simple animations.
I hear the UI takes some learning, but there are many resources available.
I need a good light weight vector program anyway so I might try it out.

combine version 1's cape with version 3. Lose the letter idea. Plain letters on a super hero is generic as fuck, you see it more in knockoffs or parodies of superheroes.
>>
>>78868878
The problems are:

A) things I want to access (things like opacity, color, that sorta thing) seem to require an extra step to get them. Like...if I'm animating in photoshop or whatever, it's pretty easy to find shit that should be a little more easily accessible.

2) no single key shortcuts, so you can't just press E to pick the eraser or whatever. I map certain functions to my tablet's keys (switching frames, zooming, etc.) but it's really time consuming

3) The preview window is weird, and I don't know if there's a setting for this; basically, the lines are all jagged/pixel-y, even though they're smooth vectors when you export it. It makes it difficult to tell if a line is tapering the way I want it to, or if colors are bleeding where they don't belong. I don't know if it has a setting like AfterEffects where I can change the preview resolution, but if it's in there, it's buried under menus.

I definitely need to watch more videos on it, because it does make animating traditionally a lot faster when you're doing it with vectors. And hey, it's not nearly as convoluted as TVPaint.

You're using the paper lines as a guide. Sooner or later you're going to have to take the trainers of and learn how where everything goes on your own.

Eyes are too high up. I'd also avoid the blur tool, since it looks like you're using it in excess. Focus on firmer, more confident strokes.

I'm trying to make a cape comic about a guy who get's stuck in a fire and suffers from smoke inhalation, but thanks to quick thinking, he installs his air conditioner into his lungs, allowing him to breathe .

At the same time, the dual speed fans make his body perform at optimum strength, giving him super powers.

Everyone wants powers of their own after learning what happened, so I plan on having him fight flavor of the week villains who have also combined with their household appliances (microwaves, blenders, slapchop, etc)

like this super quick sketch i just did of one of my wildstar characters?
>>
>>78870575
It's good that you have the 'lots of dirty sketches even if they kinda suck' mindset, it's literally the best way to improve. A lot of people won't leave a thing until it's as close to perfect as they can get it (like >>78873690) but that's like covering a smell by painting over its source, so it's good that you're willing to let something be imperfect and move on.
My advice is to start with basic shapes first (squares, circles etc) before adding any features to them instead of starting with the eyes and building around them. Same deal with hair, don't trace an outline, plop some shapes to the head and then outline them.

>>78876696
Try doing a separate sketch of any objects a character is holding, at least for me that works well for keeping things from looking blob-like

>>78876933
I'd read the fuck out of that. The writing is the make-or-break of every comic but from your summary and that pic I think it's gonna be pretty gud. Please post it here when you make it.

>for some reason nuclear throne threads were kicked out of /v/ and we got a general in /vg/
Well, either because they were generals or because Nuclear Throne is fucking awful.
Probably a bit of both.
Funny how NT would be perfect if they ditched the disgusting pixels, letting their artstyle really shine, and made the game run in 60 instead of nauseating 30FPS

I love the design here. The lack of outlines as well as the shading make the character look more natural.

I'm of a mind with this anon, here >>78868948. I would take the design from the first one on the left, and keep the style of the one on the right and keep the diamond on his chest.
