You think. I mean one considering it IS a comic for all ages, I would think the nature of the comic format would allow them to do more with characters that aren't required to switch out every few years. They could actually develop characters to be more than 1-dimensional.
On the other hand this is Power Rangers we're taking about. Not necessarily known for deep characters, and more famous for just cool action scenes and robot fights.
I suppose replacing 'they left for a peace conference' with some straight up death would be interesting if they wanted to do a more mature take on the source material.

Y'all know the only reason Divatox beat the rangers was cause they replaced a team of seasoned warriors with a bunch greenhorns.
No offense to the second wave of Turbo rangers, but they were not prepared to carry the entire franchise on their own. They got better during In Space. Especially the Blue Turbo ranger cause they got rid of him!

In-story reason is because Zordon et al knew that Tommy and other vets would fail.
According to the Millenium Message. Zordon HAD to die to stop Dark Spectre and his armie, and none of the new Rangers had the same connection to Zordon as the vets, and would be more likely to actually do the deed.

Something that GoGo Sentai Boukenger and Power Rangers Overdrive did was have the team travel around the world instead of staying to a localized place. While filming in various locations would not be feasible due to budget limitations. It would be nice if future Sentai/PR seasons have the villains attack around the world or have a better reason to constantly attack the Ranger's home beyond "just because".

Andros and Zordon already knew each other, Andros was indepently searching for Zordon before he teamed up withe the forme Turbos. The Astro Megaship combined with the Earth made space shuttle to make a Megazord, so it seemed to have come from Zordon.
