What caused other generals to be banned in the first place was that the threads degraded into pure garbage.
/sveg/ has its own share of problems, but one thing its very good at is keeping a low profile and not annoying other threads/fanbases, it helps that we only make threads on weekends so even if theres not much to discuss at all content creators usually deliver stuff they made during the week. so there is SOMETHING to be gained from /sveg/ existing.
Let's just keep doing what we have done so far, try to not go insane and try to not be obnoxious about the show to other fanbases.
I think most people didnt expect the weekend threads to last more than a few weeks back when the idea was originally pitched, the fact that we still are here in 2016 is a good sign!

I don't read fanfics often because while they're nice in their own regard, I don't like how a ton of them fail to capture the "feel" of the show itself. I guess my biggest problem is that sometimes they feel a little too complicated for a more easygoing show. Some try a little too hard to hamfist lewd too, if you had to ask me. No offense to the writers, you guys are doing just fine, most of what's there just isn't my cup of tea though.

Nothing official, there was a suggestion of the end of March, but it seemed baseless. Sometime in Spring/Summer is all we know, so many of us are hopeful of a release some time in March.
If Disney was smart they'd make use of the Gravity Falls finale to promote season 2, considering their relative lack of other popular shows on that channel.
