There was a stretch I liked where it felt like Brad and Sheldon both had about the same chance of ending up with Jenny.
Brad and Jenny had natural chemistry, but he and Jenny seemed to think of each other as just friends.
Especially since Brad fancied himself a cassanova and wanted to go out with girls he would have to impress.
And while Sheldon was a lot more romantically interested in Jenny, he came on too strong, and seemed as much in love with the idea of being with Jenny as the reality.

Stu Snyder who we all generally hate had a bone to pick with WB forcing DC IP on his network AND requiring CN to pay licensing fees to WB and THEN dictating what could stay and what could go.
He hated DC properties and when he was hired, he required all existing shows to "re-audition" to be continued which is why suddenly the entire creative staff of Teen Titans was shunted into an original property named Ben 10.

The Korean studio that animated GF was tightly synchronized with an American studio and if you'd seen Shirobako you'd know that studios don't produce episodes one at a time. It's not feasible.
The money was there, the pipeline was good, but Disney threw hiatuses at a show to deliberately drop ratings just like CN did with YJ. And surprise, surprise, Hirsch isn't going to work with them ever again and is already signed to another network.

Disney aired episodes when they aired them to A)try and make each episodes an "event" (thus causing mediocre episodes like Roadside Attraction to sting much more) in an attempt to appeal to the rabid fanbase, and B)try and garner the most amount of viewers statistically possible.
Disney wasn't trying to kill GF. On the contrary, apparently a big part of why they stretched out season three so much was because they were hoping Alex would change his mind. They want more GF because they don't have anything ready to really take its place. The closest thing is Star Vs., and the fanbase there isn't nearly as expansive.

I don't know why, but this show like... It connected to me. It was so good. I honestly think it could have been another show on say the level of Avatar, in its ability to combine action, comedy, likable, interesting characters, with a whole slew of other genres.
