Blaster Nation is a good deal better than QC. It has much more of a handle on what it actually wants to be and that drives a stronger characterisation, that is a lot more willing to be unflattering as well. The art's obviously also a lot better.
Neither is a patch on SGR but if I was trapped alone on a desert island with Blaster Nation I wouldn't kill myself.

That sentiment is perfect, and it's why I've been really disappointed with Blaster Nation's guest comics. The guest comics just turn Blaster Nation into a typical "nerds talk about NEW VIDEO GAME" comic, which isn't what Blaster Nation is about. It's a slice-of-life nerd comic about people who play games and watch anime and shit, but it's always more about the people instead of the product. Even when they do talk about those kind of things, the page itself is more about them ignoring real-world shit in favor of escapism.
Meanwhile, QC's guest comics are easily the best part of QC and almost always have a stronger grasp on the characters than JJ ever does.

That actually bums me out less because you're confirmed you're an adult and that you didn't put the effort in. That doesn't make you coping without friends any easier but nigga, if there's one lesson to take from that it's that friendship is a two-way street. You do not get to zero your own effort and maintain the most rewarding friendships. If you want to make new friends, you have to engage with people.
Now if you've been alone and socially anxious for a long time it can be difficult to engage with people but it is something that wears off, it de-rusts. You just have to get some of the bad and awkward interactions out of your system through effort (and that's even assuming those are the first ones). There is no downside to trying to make friends in a casual, friendly environment and the reward is high if you're looking for them. Join a book club, join a gaming club, sign up to a night class (on comics, even).
