Am I the only one who thinks that Dark Knight's Bane is somehow better than Comic's Bane in terms of dialogue?
That's the first thing that got me hooked to the character.

Comic Bane is an awful character, and one that had no justification for existing beyond the story he was created for.
Tom Hardy as Bane was GOAT. One of the few good parts of TDKR. The voice was weird but it had a ton of character. If not for /tv/'s Baneposting he would be remembered as one of the best capeshit movie villains.

I like comics Bane, but my favorite quote by him is in TDKR when Tom Hardy says "We both know that I now have to kill you. You'll just have to imagine the fire!". It's just delivered so good, and specially considering that in the script he says it in the opposite way (as in "You'll just have to imagine the fire. We both know that I have to kill you.")

Anyway the character is still white washed in the movie. The voice was almost as stupid as batmans needless grunt speak. A Spanish accent could have been wonderful. And, again, Bane's mask makes no sense in the movie. As a luchadore mask, it can at least be called a stylistic choice.

Really? So the bank foreclosing on wayne manor, a place that been in bruce's family for decades, needed no explanation, but a white guy from a different country then you'd normally assume is completely inexplicable.
There's just no reason to remove the character from any south american heritage, yet leave all the other plot sins in. Unless you want to white wash the character because it would be more palatable to your audience.

Not the guy but the final reveal makes the whole image that movie was building over bane go away, and make him just another henchman, meanwhile this powerful image was actually from Talia and is not even there too much time, to full the role the movie was building to.
In the end Bane was just a henchman that not even Ras wanted, and not like the movie tells you because he was too extreme, but because he reminded Ras about the hell the woman he loved had to suffer.
