HAPPENING
>>
>>78734699
I really hope this won't be McFarlane-tier trash.
>>
>Fox

All hope lost already.
>>
>>78734699
>Fox

Why? When was the last time something actually well animated or good was on Fox?
>>
>>78735533
Let's review the possible outcomes.

One, it gets one season, TOPS, and then is cancelled because Fox has a hard time committing to anything.

Two, it's shit, but it goes on forever, because once Fox DOES commit to something, they run it into the ground.
>>
>>78735621
Bob's Burgers.But that seems like a fluke.

Why was he fired from Disney?
>>
>>78734699
Why do so many anons suck Hirsch's dick like its the teat of God?
>>
>>78735718
He quit.
Disney practically begged him for a third season, because now they have NOTHING to run.
>>
HACK
>>
>>78735713
>Bob's Burgers
That's actually good? It looks like just another bland animated sitcom.
>>
>>78735773
Yes to both of those things
>>
>>78735721

The teat of god couldn't compare to the sweet nectar buried deep within Hirsch's 8 inch longer donger schlonger.

Not FX or Adult Swim
>>
>>78734699

>Fox

He wants to get overshadowed by Family Guy, Simpsons, American Dad?

His only going to get one season and that's it.
>>
>>78735721
Same reason they dickride Butt Fartman. Because he gives you waifus.
>>
>>78735773

It is. It really feels like a show about nothing. It's not bad but it's not good either. It just exists and has gone on for way too long. It's still better than their current Sunday Lineup, but that does not say much.
>>
>>78735680
Three: It won't be Gravity Falls, and everyone will immediately hate it for that fact.
>>
>>78735846
>butt fartman
i wonder if you actually thought that was clever when you wrote it
>>
>>78735756
Not true. Descendants is doing amazing, even the little animated shorts. KC Undercover does great, as does that time travel show.
>>
>>78735773
It's a very polarizing show. Either you love the family dynamic, maybe you HAD a family like it growing up, or it's all Greek to you.

It just feels a lot more genuine than Simpsons or Family Guy at this point, which, granted, doesn't mean much.
>>
>>78735843
>American Dad
That's on tbs. Do people still watch the Simpsons
>>
>>78735773
its not bad but the older daughter being voiced by a dude while the younger is kristen schaal was too jarring for me.
>>
>>78735829

AS only produces edgy nonsense or Fox sitcom knockoffs that appeals to stoners with a shoestring budget. FX on the other hand is very loose when it comes to censors and standards and could be a great way to air whatever show you'd like. Too bad no one ever considers that option.
>>
Fox's animated shows are mostly horrible right now.
>>
>>78735914
Yeah but nobody fucking watches those shows on /co/.
>>
>>
>>78736016
>>78735846
Samefag.
>>
>>78735621
Golan was both, but we'll never see it again.
>>
>>78735914
Oh. Well shut my mouth.

Still won't have a new cartoon king, though, unless Star takes off.
>>
>>78735621
Bob's Burgers

Honestly I hope its good, but won't the lack of constraints from S&P and the broad comedy type of shows Fox airs only work against Hirsch? He's very talented but I don't know, Fox would not have been my first choice. Does this mean he's forming his own Animation Company now though like Gracie Films?
>>
>>78736054

It fell for the same tropes that most "adult" cartoons fall into. And it's pretty sad the the creator was obviously trying to shill his gay creation on here. Thank god no one actually fell for it.
>>
>>78734699
Anyone else boycotting this emasculated white knight faggot's shit forever? Fuck his female characters with no accountability. And the whole emasculated male protagonist shit? To hell with Hirsch the hack.

Really?
>>
>>78736099
I can see Fox easily pushing Alex in a direction to make things "edgier" and to cut down on serial storytelling.

Mostly though, Part of me wants this show to bomb so that he suffers for cutting Gravity Falls short because he got bored of it.
>>

True. Although they could turn those descendants shorts into an actual show. Capitalize on their popularity. Hell, they've already got the models made
>>
>>78736190

Venture Bros. is a special exception but as a drawback, it takes like three years to do one season. Can't wait for the newest season though.
>>
>>78735762
I WAS DRINKING MY COFFEE, FUCK YOU LITTLE SHIT!
>>
>>78736190
Moral Orel, Rick and Morty, Robot Chicken, and The Boondocks except that last season, are all amazing
>>
>>78736250

Don't be mad that no one liked your mediocre show. And those /sug/ faggots are banished to /trash/.
>>
>>78734699
It's going to become another brilliant Fox show that gets cancelled in a season.
>>
>>78735986
>Do people still watch the Simpsons

I mean, its still going on. Either people still watch it, or Fox just doesn't have the guts to pull the plug because it (and Family Guy) prints money for them
>>
>>78736298
I agree man, I was disagreeing with >>78736004 and don't forget Black Dynamite.
>>
>>78736298

Moral Orel did not get interesting until the two finales and season 3. Also they are both still edgy as fuck with lame parodies that appeals to the stoner crowd. The west is truly stagnated when it comes to animation.
>>

>>
Alex is a Jewish manlet hack that will make women invulnerable and men scum for being happy. Also I bet the art will not be very appealing because "adult" cartoons inherently must have ugly art for some reason.
>>
>>78736327
/sug/ is back pham, get with the times.
>>
>>78736234
>Part of me wants this show to bomb so that he suffers for cutting Gravity Falls short because he got bored of it.

I mean, isn't it sort of a good thing that he abandoned it when he got bored of it? Would you rather let it die a slow, drawn out death where it gradually turns into a soulless, effortless piece of shit?
>>
>>78736593
I would rather he go with his original plan for three seasons and given it a proper sendoff. 2B is just shit compared to the rest of the series.
>>
>>78736554

Hopefully when that bomb ends they will be sent back to /trash/ where they belong.
>>
>>78736012

>>
>>78736757

>>
>>78736051
I never pretended to be two different people, you know.
>>
They will be horrible for the exact opposite reason as Disney.

Either they won't challenge him at all and the series will stagnate, or, more likely, they'll push him to make everything edgier.

Don't expect any somber or touching moments that aren't interrupted by blood gushing from somewhere.
>>
Yawn. Call me when they greenlight something ambitious.
>>
>>78737045
Unfiltered Hirsch sounds pretty edgy
>>
>>78736629

>MUH THREE SEASONS

I actually read the relevant post, and he said it would be either two seasons and a movie, OR three seasons. We got a movie by definition in the last episode, and 19 other episodes. Since there isn't a law that says a season has to be twenty episodes, I'd say he more or less fulfiled what he said. Furthermore, he hardly has total control over Disney scheduling, so you can't tell for sure what he wanted was what he got.

And Season 2B delivered some of the best episodes in the whole series.
>>
>FOX
So it's going to be a family sitcom? Because FOX literally doesn't allow another kind of animated variety.

>>
im happy bout it
>>
>>78736593
See The Simpsons, The Boondocks, The X-files, Twin Peaks, Star Trek TOC, King of the Hill, Futurama, and yes Even Family Guy. Go out with a Bang

I'm more annoyed he wants to work with Fox when their track record is making good shows crap and cancelling great shows. Yes he loves the Simpsons but they Wrecked the Simpsons. Doing your a show on Fox because you were inspired by the Simpsons is like watching the Original Star Wars, being inspired by it, seeing the prequels, and then asking George Lucas to direct your new script
>>
>>78736234
He never wanted to make kids' TV, he just got a call from Disney asking for a pitch and he quickly came up with something and to his surprise it got greenlit for a pilot.
He's always said his next project would be for adults because he's been constantly at odds with Disney about getting away with more mature content in GF and it's driven him nuts.
>>
>>78737993
Yes, but then it will probably be highly political which regardless if you are liberal or conservative, is always annoying. Cartoons should be an escape from all that crap not more of it
>>
>>78737791
Most likely Fox called him asking for a pitch, and they probably offer a better budget for a pilot than [AS], and if they pass he can take it somewhere else. Plus if the show is actually successful, creating, writing, and acting a network show that gets enough episodes to go to syndication is a very surefire way to become a multimillionaire.
>>
>>78738097
Wait, there's money in cartoons?
>>
>>78738122
No, there's money in sitcoms that get reran constantly. Which very well can be animated.
You get residuals every time they play it. Jerry Seinfeld is a billionaire for this reason.
>>
>>78734699
Lol, Fox probably wants 22 episodes a year. Hirsch doesn't want 20 writers like FG or AD. So he tries to do it by himself and becomes a bigger alcoholic as MacFarlane.
>>
>>78735429
All fox animations, family guy included, derive from the Simpsons because fox really hates trying anything different than from what been proven to be successful.
>>
>>78738093
Could be. He is a John Stewart fanboy but
I trust him to do it reasonable.
>>
>>78738093

From what I've gathered, most of the politically oriented humour on GF was the behest of other writers. Considering that Animaniacs literally had a whole segment which ended with Rita instructing the viewers to vote Democrat, Hirsch has definitely kept it safe.
>>
>>78737534
>>78737564
Fox doesn't really give much of a shit about their animated stuff. There could be an interracial gay wedding between two strong independent feminists and they wouldn't even care.
>>
>>78738588
They don't care if the ratings are high. They learned from the Simpsons that making money is better than having other priorities.
>>
>>78737791
I don't know if Twin Peaks would count because that only ran for...two seasons, was it?

and what (might've) ruined it was that the network forced the writers to reveal the killer earlier than intended, forcing them to come up with shit at the last second to replace what they (probably) had plans. But who knows.
>>
>mfw the Fox show is about a pair of twin siblings who fuck each other
>>
>>78737564
That's kind of oversimplifying things because most comedy writers are libertarians - professional comedy is a libertarian field by nature. And it's actually almost funny that Seth claims to be a diehard leftist Democrat Obama hugger while his shows contain the most horrible racist/sexist/homophobic jokes ever.
>>
>>78738851
"You know what you two need? A little comic strip called Love Is. It's about two naked 8 year olds who are married."
>>
>>78738876
There was a time, not too long ago, when the right were the ones more sensitive to that sort of stuff.
>>
>>78738571
What? I'm going to need a sauce on that segment.

Now they can finally have that shared universe they've always wanted.
>>
>>78739253

I don't recall the name, but I think it was set in some barren ice region, and oil was involved. The bad guy was a parody of then Texan Governor Dubya, and he was really indecisive. The pair get on the boat to leave, with Rita says to the camera "Next time, I'm voting Democrat," while Runt says some stupid shit along the lines of "I want to reduce the deficit, but not cut the doggie biscuit budget."
>>
>>78739536

Gravity Falls and Rick and Morty already share a universe.

>>
>>78739536
>>78739630
When he posted those pictures he hadn't actually pitched it to the network, and was basically just gauging response or trying to build hype or something. My guess is the idea came about in the writers room with Mike as "hey, how can we get a show on Fox" for these reasons: >>78738152
and I kind of doubt it's going to happen, especially since Rick and Morty seems pretty important to Justin.

What's the point of putting political jokes in children's cartoons? They're not old enough to vote, all the jokes would be as subtle as a brick flying through a window (although that's a problem that most political jokes in general suffer from), and it would fly right over their heads

It at least makes some sense in adult-oriented cartoons as the target demographic would at least be old enough to vote, but there's no point at putting them in kids cartoons.

Kids are indoctrinated immediately in schools now. Did you not know that? "just one. her parents have clearly brainwashed her, but i'll get that fixed by and by"
I told them how much they disgusted me, reminded them how it's illegal to talk politics in line for a polling place, and went to the back of the line

When you take a step back it's kind of hilarious. Anyway, I wouldn't read too much into this news. Maxwell Atoms was supposed to create a show for Fox after Billy and Mandy, and that never happened. Likewise, Fox looked into a Destroy All Humans! TV series with King of the Hill producer Jim Dauterive but that never came to be.

The general idea with you retards seems to be

or
>if you aren't conservative like me, you're a moron and I won't listen to you.

That was a grandparental bonus. If they gave a shit about the parents, there'd be 80s and 90s references.

It's Fox so chances are it'll be edgy with a bad art style.

I'm down with anything that'll make it so there will be more photos of the guy (from interviews or whatever) to ogle. Sorry 2 be a nasty bitch

Goddamn Boondock's final season was just a trainwreck, show lost its rudder without Aaron McGruder, guy is a great writer.

Black Jesus is actually pretty good live action Boondocks, comfy tier television

I don't get it, why is he called a hack? Is this like /a/'s NASU IS A HACK meme?

Seth really got tired of FG a long time ago and he told the writers to make it as edgy and offensive as possible so that Fox would either cancel it or people would get disgusted and stop watching, unfortunately it backfired since shock humor only made 13 year olds and white trash watch it more.

I don't hate DD&MD as much because it's the only time Ford is fleshed out as a character a bit instead of just being a plot device.

>>
>>78752287
Only his shows will probably have more of that Millenial Tumblritis/LOLsorandumb flavor and not so much of Seth's Gen Xer edgy grossout humor/80s worship.
>>
>>78748705
Yes, by every legal and historical angle, even - it's almost as bad a meme as 'the first amendment was made for militias not people!!'
>>
>>78753065
I'm not an American but I can't help but find the fact that you have yet to form a big-ass militia and remove your senate from power, is well, suicidal.
>>
>>78753113
Your post doesn't make sense, comrade. We're suicidal because we haven't yet formed a revolution and usurped the US government?
>>
>>78753113
The last time we tried that, 600,000 people died. Kind of discouraged us from doing it again.
>>
>>78752535
But Gen Xers invented "lolsorandumb" humor and Millenials still like gross out stuff.

yes.

>>
>>78753214
Oh, then you're largely correct. The majority of our populace has either grown complacent or is willfully uneducated, because of the nature of our country it isn't necessary to be informed or to even work. Unless our government eventually takes away our bread and circuses we won't have anything like a revolt.

A couple dozen people in a US militia did recently take over a federal wildlife refuge in oregon because they felt the govt overstepped their boundaries, though, so that's something
>>
It'll get six episodes then get dropped.
>>
I don't get it. I've been reading this thread and I don't get it. What does fox see in alex's work that would make them say "Hey, you would do really well on fox sundays!"

Is this just another golan gamble that will end in a 6 episode run?
>>
>>78753234
/k/ reporting in. They could, 100%. The US government could not withstand any sizable revolt of the populace, even something like 10-15%
>>
>>78753346
They've taken bigger gambles that paid off; Seth had never had a show of his own when they gave him a chance and his shit literally prints money.
>>
Alex's shitty college animation projects I could see fitting on FOX. They're very bad though so if they resemble that then it will be shit.

you might as well say "tomorrow the world will end!" everyday when you wake up.

Humanity has been in far far darker times than now and 1st world politics will cause no mass extinction, if anything they have stagnated the cycle.

Brave New World will happen to society before Mad Max will.
