Exactly. It's the fucking execution that bothers me more than anything. You want to add continuity to something that previously had little to none? Go right ahead. Just do it with some care and keep some of the charm of the original. This doesn't feel like an Archie book.

I mean, the Jughead book is closer to the mark, but people have made some valid points against that too (Jughead's more proactive and less never may care nature, the intrusion of the day dreams meaning to be call backs to the short comics but feeling more out of place)...but Waid really takes the cake on missing the mark.

I am quite enjoying this. I love me some Veronica and she's always at her best as a kind of villain.
So who was this book made for? Like it can't be fans of the old Archie because this is nothing like that.

I still quite like the new Jughead thus far, but this is losing me.

Reggie was never really 'hated' in most of the original stories, he was just a prankster and a loudmouth who always got beat up by Moose because he couldn't keep his eyes off Midge.
I've read Archie comics since I was a kid and I'm actually kind of sick of these recent reboots and alternate universe stories turning him into an outright villain. Same with Veronica almost always being in full bitch mode in these new stories.

I love Adam Hughes's art style, and would be able to enjoy actually being able to read something that it's attached to.
