My opinion is that it went from something good to kind of a letdown in all honesty. I was liking lesser-powered Supes, but I just wasn't fully enthralled by the truth arc, like it doesn't feel as strong as it should be. It has ideas, but not enough fleshing with those ideas.

This is the cover to Superman/Wonder Woman 27 which is one of the last issues of Savage Dawn.
It looks like Supes is definitely getting a redesign alongside Wondy.
And while there's no trunks it looks really good by sheer virtue of fewer lines and no mandarin/trevor slattery collar.

Well, it makes sense.
Superman is the paragon of goodness, and someone that the public thinks would never and COULD never lie. Then they find out that he's been lying to them this whole time, and that he's been, in essence, defrauding the paper that he works for and using forged documents to get by...
I mean, I know it's Superman so we automatically give him a pass because of course, but...you have to admit, the secret identity thing really is pretty screwed up when you sit down and think about it.
Not to mention when you consider the villains that knew who he was, and where he lived and slept and worked. All those people that he surrounded himself with? They were all in an incredible amount of danger, constantly.

Pretty good issue. The superman powerless started out strong but has been kind of a let down since. Pak as usual was pretty on point. However, I have not been a fan of superman being an asshole without his powers, and pining after them.
Superman in the past has wanted nothing more then to settle down, but can't because he has powers thus a responsibility. With people like Wonder woman and Shazam superman can leave the world in good hands. Instead he mopes about how he isn't the most special person anymore, which is way out of character.

Look at the other Superman designs from around the same time. Earth-2, Earth-23, Smallville, hell even Man of Steel is better. All of them still manage to have detail without being shit. The armored look with all the lines for no reason is just plain ugly.
