All the best boards have a sticky. Why doesn't /co/ have one? I feel like the ones that do don't have nonstop shit posting or mods that just delete stuff they don't like.

Like for example the mods all seem to delete console war threads, why don't they just explicitly state they aren't allowed?

We need a sticky with rules damn it. Its 2016 and its up to the userbase to stop the decay.

/co/ offers plenty of opportunities to post it.
>>
>>78674131
It's just ridiculous. There are too many threads that devolve into metaposting about what /co/ should be. If we just had a sticky stating what can and cannot be posted it'd be a lot better. Especially when every other board gets one. It'd help to reign in some of the more ban happy mods as well.

I'd say we definitely need a sticky telling people how to find recs for themselves.

I'd like it if we had sticky that said adaptions don't belong on this board because they aren't comics or cartoons.

I'd like something akin to /fit/'s sticky, linking new readers where to start and how to go about getting into a character and what not so there aren't 100 threads after every movie gets released.

Maybe put Instocktrades and Amazon links in the sticky.

I think this needs clarifying especially for what type of threads are allowed because as it stands, everything is allowed.

There's no reason to have casting threads or threads for every article/rumor/"my dad works at nintendo" leak/interview etc...

And low-quality threads like >>78661847 and >>78666805 should be deleted on sight.

>There's no reason to have casting threads or threads for every article/rumor/"my dad works at nintendo" leak/interview etc...

Why not? Yeah it's stupid to have a million and one movie threads up at once, but casting threads and movie discussion threads can certainly have references and discussion of the original material and characters.
>>
>>78674897
Idk how new you are faggot but wait until BvS and Civil War drop. The first like 3 pages will be just that and push everything else off the board. Hell last time when Avengers dropped I saw storytimes not even finished yet getting pushed off.

But casting threads are just stealth waifu/husbando threads and the clickbait articles have a tendency to be made up bullshit that gets threads for days on end.

Even if we say discussing tv shows and movies is fine, should everything remotely related to them like costume designers and actors twitters feeds be fine too?

Sticky?

/co/ is based on static mediums and most of the userbase here likes spoonfeeding information even a 2 second Google search would give. Plus, our mods are active oversensitive fascists and we haven't had a consistent board culture in half a decade.

It would just be a placebo, like most existing stickies.
>>
>>78675056
No dude. They stickied and there was an effort but the board overall was flooded with character questions and where do I start threads without people even seeing if one was up already. That's not even including fan art and shipping threads.
>>
>>78675094
>Not if there are 50 threads asking for recs or where to start

I fucking wish we had 50 recommendation threads up. I love it when new readers are genuinely interesting in where to get started.

>most of the userbase here likes spoonfeeding information even a 2 second Google search would give.

You just actually enjoy spoon feeding and don't give a shit about discussion?
>>
>>78675130
I doubt that the people who make rec threads are genuinely interested in reading comics. A passing interest, sure, enough to make a thread at least.

But if they really wanted to, they would just knuckle down and actually do it.

>>
>>78675190
>But if they really wanted to, they would just knuckle down and actually do it.

>>
>>78675094

>Filtering has no bearing on slow threads or Storytime threads that require people to bump them getting pushed off the board you colossal moron.

Why should I care about your storytime thread? Why should /co/ conform to your minority preferences?
>>
>>78675245
And if there was a sticky they would know where to get started. Hell they could even leave the sticky open to post in the first day, remove everything except the rec pics, then sticky that.
>>
>>78675130
>I love it when new readers are genuinely interesting in where to get started.

Nigga, please. People who make that claim just like the self-satisfaction of someone new getting into their clique.

Besides, people who aren't jackasses already go to active threads or generals to ask for recommendations.
>>
>>78675245

>>
>>78675413

>>
>>78675397

>>
>>78675458
That's because I like having new people interested in the medium. Plus we get storytimes out of it, which is THE best part of /co/
>>
>>78675458

> /fit/ for example has a whole sticky for eating and routines

No one reads the sticky. there are multiple diet and routine threads on /fit/ at any given moment.
>>
>>78675458

The rec threads won't stop. Instead, you'll get the following:

>hey /co/, I read the sticky but I'd like a little advice on what comics I should get and where I can get them.

Just like every other sticky on 4chan

>>78675604

>>

>Holy shit please tell me this is bait. What the fuck is wrong with you people.

Still avoiding my questions. I'll repeat them for you:

>Why should I care about your storytime thread? Why should /co/ conform to your minority preferences?

Are you saying that /co/ is for storytimes only?

>>78675397
>>
Why would you have a sticky just about comics when half the board is cartoons?
>>
>>78675918
I'm saying most anons would agree storytimes are the best part about /co/ as they garner discussion, a sense of community and help expand the userbases knowledge.

>>78675956
Essential cartoons list could be included as well but that is a much harder list to create. Maybe recommended cartoons.
>>
>>78675956

Because these kids don't want to improve /co/, they just want all the stuff they don't like to be against the rules
>>
>>78676052
How in the fuck do you get that by wanting to sticky recs and places people can start to buy comics?
>>
>>78676020

>I'm saying most anons would agree
storytimes are the best part about /co/

Based on?
>>
>>78675956
Cartoon rec threads are much less common.
>>
>>78676078
Why do you insist on ignoring over half the board?
>>
>>78676117
10 years of being on this site.
>>
>>78675918
Storytimes are a great place to discuss a writer's style, character evolution, art, etc. Because you're getting to see the comic play out as you're discussing it. Like, think of the Hickman and Morisson crisis storytimes, or the Invincible Storytime, or the storytimes of smaller titles that most of us would never have been exposed to otherwise. I know I NEVER would have picked up Hitman if /co/ hadn't storytimed it. Now I hunted down every issue.
>>
>>78676142
Calm down cartoon friend see >>78676020. A recommend cartoon list could be included. That requires people to agree on it though which would be days of threads in itself.
>>
>>78676078

Because of >>78675956

No thought is given to what would be enjoyable for everyone, just the comicbook kiddies. What we have here is a thread full of the /co/ minority opinion. Traditionally, minorities have little regard for the common good, just their own little group
>>
>>78676210
Breh comics are the majority on /co/, cartoons are the minority.
>>
>>78675036
>Even if we say discussing tv shows and movies is fine, should everything remotely related to them like costume designers and actors twitters feeds be fine too?
If it is directly related to the /co/adaptation ues, otherwise no
>>
>>78676149

>anecdotal evidence

exactly

>>78676156

>more anecdotal evidence

But why should I care? Convince me that a storytime only a few people are reading should be saved when the rest of the board is discussing other things.
>>
>>78676258
>cartoons are the minority.
>that's why we need generals to prevent them from swarming the board with threads
>>
>>78676258

Go compare the number of comic threads to the number of cartoon threads and get back to me.
>>
>>78676300
Why should anyone care that you don't care?

>>
>>78676210
I'm a goddamn Republican, and I know you're full of bullshit about that. There are 14 of us on this thread. We can ALL claim any claim on this thread is a minority. I like cartoons too. I enjoy discussing my Don Bluth and my Miyazaki. You get storytimes and you get generals for ongoing cartoons like Gravity Falls, South Park and Steven Universe, it's all fair game. >Anyone here saying something on this board shouldn't be here is being entitled as shit

It wasn't that long ago, and a sticky saying shitposting and baiting isn't allowed won't stop people from shitposting and baiting. Even while the sticky was up people would still try to argue that whatever stupid, off topic thing they want to talk about was allowed because there was a comic based on it.

If anything mods should be banning MORE people, I'm sick of all the morons bringing their awful /v/ mentality over here.

Remember how /v/ used to get really upset about how migrants from reddit were ruining the board? That's how we feel about /v/ and /tv/ crossboarders.
>>

Win'O threads are technically against the rules, mods just look the other way. If moderation actually acknowledged them the site could get in big trouble.
