A lot of people do, and possibly not just for the sake of shitposting like Octavian, and I have to ask how and why?
Because Jaune isn't even Mile's self insert. He's the guy Miles wanted to be in High School. So even though the personality is shit he has a personality of his own, and that personality is something everyone who self inserts as Jaune seems to ignore.
For one thing aside from that stupid as shit bullying sequence Jaune has demonstrated on several occasions that he has big clanking brass balls for someone with no superpowers. And while he might be a fuckwit, he's not nearly as awkward as people think he is or portray him as in fanfiction wankery.
The guy goes after shit he wants instead of wondering why the girls don't come after him. He wanted to be a hunter so he forged some transcripts uprooted himself from everything he ever knew and moved to a strange land. He wanted Weiss and pursued her.
I mean the reason he's not banging Pyrrha isn't because he's too scared to pursue because shes Pyrrha Champion, celebrity and above all else. It's because she's Pyrrha Nikos his friend and partner.

JNPR probably not, given how they seem to talk in the past. In fact, I'd wager based on a lot of RT's attitude, any paid DLC to come out would probably be well after development is "completed". But eventually the game is going to come out of Early Access and probably cost more money once it has more content.
Where they'll probably get you is like, 99 cent costume packs.
I've been thinking, it sorta be argued that Roman Neo, Mercury and Emerald all have quite similar base personalities. They're all openly immoral, smug and enjoy beating up heroes or innocents.
Yet that doesn't seem to hinder the quality of the villains side, even though it feels like it should just a bit? They all feel like they have enough elements that set them apart and their own good moments, and that makes up for the similarities.
I dunno, I feel like there's a lack of depth/variation in characterisation on the villains side, yet that doesn't seem to hold them back from being some of the best characters. Anyone else understand this feel?

I feel like we're getting some significant character development now. We saw that Emerald actually does have a personal loyalty/affection for Cinder (and how it came to be), and that Merc has a pretty dark past.
But yeah, I think there's more to many characters than what we've seen, probably due to time constraints. But hopefully we'll keep getting revelations like we got with Merc/Em this ep.

Jaune clearly wants to ask Weiss, so Pyrrha butts out, even after a couple rejections and Jaune deciding not to challenge the frozen ocean. But Pyrrha has to be stoic or one of those many classical Greek-ish traits and doesn't say shit.

we've been over this one idea before but, because of the length of the episodes/seasons and the size of the cast, there's not enough room to develop the characters AND the plot AND the setting/worldbuilding. trying to do them all is going to underserve each one.
so just make a webcomic sorta deal or maybe put the 2D animation team on a project where they make shorts, and the subject material covers all those side characters that need fleshing out. fun stuff that happens behind the scenes, like how may handles her gay feelings in a team with 3 guys, or what team CFVY does in their free time.

well as long as it's all canon material for characters that still supposedly interact with the main cast, then you could easily assume that the episodes could make some references to things that were established in the side comics. like, in a way where it doesn't impact the plot, but for the guys who do a double-take and go "wait what the hell? why is ozpin's mug completely different?" they'll ask or seach around and find the webcomic, where they discover a little story, something like this:

Get better writers get a good editing staff, have a director that knows the story but is not a writer to keep oversight on the writers.
Slow the story down add more episodes per a season, make the seasons more focused on the little things, make metaplot be more background until the characters are well fleshed out.

I'm actually terrible at writing, I know this from experience. the best I can say I can do is scenario crafting, but actually fleshing out the bits to make a cohesive story with dialogue flow and all that is hard on me. it's like those "idea guys" you hear about now and then.
a good writer can still take a bad idea and make it a fun read
a bad writer will usually still make a bad story even if it came from a good idea
this is why writing is far more important than having good ideas, but the best I can do is provide direction for stories and bounce input back and forth with someone who actually CAN write.

Ever play SOMA? A part of SOMA deals with that same thing, about robots not realizing they're robots, and think they're people, even when it was obvious they weren't. Alpha went through the same thing before Caboose killed him, he just went around with the delusion that he was human, and then later a ghost. Tex played along with him for his sake.
