Didn't this movie set itself up for a sequel? Why did it never get one?

Was it not well enough received?

>Was it not well enough received?

You know this does not matter right? Ratings and reviews mean nothing in the face of money which according to wiki it made quite a bit of.

I dunno why no sequel yet tho.

I really like this movie

Allegedly coming out in December

The sequel is apparently coming out this December?
I guess it got put on hold for the Hobbit trilogy?
>>
>>78640347
I think they're still working on it?
>>
>>78640446
That's part of what I meant, I didn't just mean reviews.
>>
>>78640347
Was a good telling of the Unicorn/Red Rackham treasure.

Would rather have Destination/Explorers of the Moon as the next but that is just me.

>>78640347
The 3D animation of this movie is beautiful, had lots of heart and respect towards the show I feel.

I remember it being very visually impressive, I'm excited to see how it looks with CURRENT YEAR technology.
>>
>>78640347
Only real flaw is that it didn't have the Symphonic Theme from the series.
>>
This movie had barely anything to do with the comic. Fucking garbage.
>>
>>78640703
Its a specific rendering suite and mocap. it can either work really well for being super off putting.
>>
That scene when Tintin is chasing the papers in his bike is damn amazing.
>>
>>78642170
What about the ship fight?
>>
>>78641252
look dude, I get it. I do. But you can't just throw away all those awesome scene just for that. It would be a waste.
>>
>>78640347

It wouldnt be hard for a sequel considering the first movie is based on the first book or two. There's like a half dozen more tintin books to make into a movie.

And I'm for all of them if theyre as good as the first movie.

is this bait?

I've gotta rewatch this sometime. I'm not usually a fan of mocap CG, but damn if this movie wasn't gorgeous and full of amazing setpieces.
>>
>>78642358
That one too. All the action scenes were perfect. Got me so pumped up.
>>
Literally the best Adventure film, animated or live action.
>>
>>78642404
It's based on an adventure from a few books in, when the Captain shows up for the first time.

If it weren't for everyone's weird noses, it would be too uncanny valley to watch.
>>
>>78640347

If (and when) they do Destination Space and Tintin in Tibet, they'll basically have my money.

It did well everywhere that wasn't the US because Americans have shit taste in animation (cf. Steven Universe).
>>
>>78642611
No way, what impressed me was how they managed not to make it fall into the uncanny valley.
>>
>>78642856
It's strange because we saw it one summer at work and the kids loved it. Hell, the kids fight over the few trades we have of it at work to read. I would have expected more kids to go, even with the source material not being as well known here as overseas.

Because Peter Jackson got roped into directing The Hobbit after Del Taco dropped out, Jackson was supposed to do Tintin had this not come up so it's hit a delay because of three hobbit movies that he didn't even want to make.

Parents don't know shit about good movies, or raising a kid culturally at all
>>
>>78641165
Still it's one of the best william's adventure score, so much gorgeous theme and powerful orchestration unlike his works recently. Heck, even his star wars episode 7 was a little forgettable
>>
>>78645932
Outside of Rey's theme, I'd agree.
>>
Amazing movie, only flaw was the animation style felt off since some characters looked really realistic while others looked cartoony.
>>
>>78643115
Most people don't care about culture, or rather, they do, but not in the ways you might.
>>
>>78642925
I think he was saying that it was just stylised enough not to be weird.

I really enjoyed Tintin. Even the 3D actually worked.
>>
This movie was really amazing and underrated. Glad to hear it's getting a squeal
