A few days ago I storytimed Kaijumax, today it's time for another obscure one: Dark Horses's Gamera: The Guardian of the Universe.
That's right, as well as getting the Godzilla license, they had Gamera too, who's series was much short-lived.

Oops! Wrong page. If I actually understood the post-deletion timer I'd get rid of it.
Love that they used the classic Gamera enemies and actually made them cool, quite a feat.
Also keeping up the tradition with goofy alien chicks.

I'm glad we got something official for Gamera's 50th anniversary last year.

That was awesome to see! I'm hearing conflicting stuff about whether it's just a proof of concept or an actual trailer though.
>>78640044
I'm sure it's the later but they are definetly working on a Gamera movie.
>>78640134
Yeah, there is a director attached and everything, something's getting made
Somehow it's surreal that we're getting new Japanese Godzilla and Gamera movies soon. It's been so long.
There is this comic I just learned about called "Terrible Lizard", about a girl and his t-rex fighting monsters, that may count as kaiju even if the monsters are King Kong size.

That looks awesome, I'll give it a read

Thanks for the storytime.
I'm looking forward to this year kaiju wise.

No problem. Seems like Gamera is still unpopular, though :'(

I wish IDW had the rights to do Gamera comics similar to their Godzilla ones.
Gamera: The Half-Shell Century War
Gamera in Heaven
and of courseGodzilla v Gamera
New pics of the new Godzilla design have been leaked.
I'm hyped.

I'm quite impressed with it. I'm glad they departed from the Legendary design; it's good to make them more distinct.

Word from Ragone is that AnnoGodzilla's gonna be a mix of puppets, animatronics and CG with the main suit/prop requiring three people to operate.

>AnnoGodzilla's gonna be a mix of puppets, animatronics and CG
Yeah, they said it'll be like the Attack on Titan movies.

Who?
>>78650663
August Ragone. American kaiju historian with a lot of connections in Japan. Wrote a really good book on Eiji Tsuburaya a few years ago.

Anyone read this comic?

It doesn't look good, but I'm surprised it exists.
Another somewhat recent kaiju comic is "Giant Monster" written by Steve Niles (known for 30 Days of Night).
