I was just looking though my old Beano comics and found this (issue 3244)
Is this canon? Dennis the Menace is related to Walter?
How deep does the rabbit hole go considering the current Dennis's dad is the old Dennis the Menace.

wow amazing thread 10/10
>canon
>british funny books
c'mon OP. Most of them lead up to a "gosh, I got out of trouble by giving my dad a copy of this week's BEANO chortle" punchline.
I have 79 beano comics mainly from 2004 - 2005
How do I find someone who wants to buy them from me?

I always liked this Dennis better.

If this person can't sell 200 for £10, I've got no chance
>British gag comix
>Not even once.
More of a Dandy man desu.

I wish there was a beano/dandy civil war within /co/
it would be amusing
Why does everything the British make have to be horrendously ugly?
>>78635349
That was always the most shameless, cringeworthy shit, especially when it was someone who had no reason to enjoy a children's comic like the kids' parents or teachers.
>>78637993
They always come across as Don Martin comics ran through a filter that sucked out the humor.

>That was always the most shameless, cringeworthy shit
When you had the right sort of brain to really enjoy the Beano (i. e. early 1990s, when I was a little brat), it only seemed natural that the "unconverted" might hilariously discover that they liked the comic as much as I.
Little did I know.
In retrospect Ken Reid's Minnie the Minx, David Sutherland's Bash Street Kids, and Mike Pearse's long stories were way above everything else. Three Bears and Baby-Face Finlayson have had some funny moments under various talents.
Really want to like Lord Snooty, Biffo the Bear, Korky the Cat and others but they are crashing bores

fucking cunt
>tfw these are made in my hometown
>>78638534
Man it is incredibly fucking weird to see an artist who you remember doing strips for the Beano doing Beano parody strips for Viz.
>>78638534
Ken Reid was wicked. Britain's Basil Wolverton, I reckon.
>>78634804
Why is Dennis' mouth to the side of his eyes?
>>78639107
Because of cartoony exaggeration.
>Hey I always loved Mike Pearse's stories in the Beano! I wonder what he's working on now?
>Find his blog
>Lots of bitter comics about his messy divorce

Is he really though? It's great fanon, but in the issue where "new Dennis" and his parents first appeared it was said it was a makeover by Gok Wan

Why does everything Americans make have to have hyper attractive protagonists?
>>78638534
>Mike Pearse's long stories
This shit was godtier. He wrote a proposal to DC Thompson suggesting that the Beano and Dandy become permanently long stories. Maybe they could have survived if he got his way.

>Beano
I have fantastic memories of reading this Bash Street Kids story where they all turn into werewolves, and if I recall correctly, it was Baby-Face, Korky the Cat and Biffo the Bear behind the whole ordeal.

Ken Reid didn't do Minnie, that was Leo Baxendale. Reid did Faceache and Frankie Stein also Jonah.

>Ken Reid didn't do Minnie, that was Leo Baxendale.
I'm an idiot. I meant Jim Petrie on Minnie, during the period I referenced. He of the characters licking lips with multiple tongues.
