ITT: Classic costumes or characters we miss from ongoing universes.
No trolling please, just stick to positives!
Now I'm not a fan of the ridiculous amount of pushing she's getting but her new costume looks fine when someone who knows what they're doing gets to draw her. But to stick with the thread.

everyone hated this one until they fucked up the new one

What's wrong with Silk? She's a strong sex-positive character

My mugga. Give him jacket and it's perfect.

This, it's a terrible costume, not that the new one is any better.

With bare feet and saying "this one" when referring to her self. I don't know why they dropped her doing that.
>>78635306
>everyone
Don't kid yourself, it's everyone's favourite Spider-Woman, and thus because she is the most popular Spider-Woman became a target for SJWs who wanted to appropriate her.
>>78634577
>safe space
>pretending liking an old fapbait costume is the exact same as liking her characterization in the same era that she wore the vapid fapbait costume.
>>78635186
This looks so much better than the black leotard.
>>78635433
No, people hated this costume. I can tell you haven't been reading comics for long.
>>78635186
>Minus the scarf
Why?
>>78635433
Calling that "everyone's favourite Spider-Woman" is basically equivalent to saying "everyone's favourite courgette recipe".
>>78635306
You never appreciate what you have until it's gone.
Wasted on a bad run.
>>78635429

It was Bendis, anon.

Bendis?

>Don't kid yourself, it's everyone's favourite Spider-Woman,
Nope, it may be the most popular, but almost everyone i know prefer Ultimate Jessica
>>78635478
Ah yeah, that clearly fapbait tank leotard, that no serious woman would wear in any REAL athletic event where she wanted to be taken seriously. When are these crazy male artists going to learn, right?
>>78635575
She didn't use it it D&A gotg despite using it in Anihilation conquest.

I like the Cockrum costume a lot too but let's not pretend it was meant to be practical, that's absurd.

When I said "shot" I didn't mean just bullets, Carol gets hit by all sorts of cosmic shit that can hurt her all the time, why wouldn't she cover herself up just in case?

Is this bait?
>>78635669
Leave? Like, go away?
>>78635708
>She also demonstrates the ability to absorb other forms of energy, such as electricity, to further magnify her strength and energy projection, up to the force of an exploding nuclear weapon
>>78635708
Because when you're as tough as she is, there just isn't much that makes worthwhile armor.
>>78635819
Please inform Jim Lee of this fact.
>>78635742
She doesn't always absorb that energy, you'd know this if you actually read comics instead of reading off a wiki. Also, what about my point of getting punched? She can also get stabbed by someone powerful enough.
>>78635819
>when you're as tough as she is, there just isn't much that makes worthwhile armor.
That didn't stop black bolt
>>78635854
You're right, she should be wearing anti-punch armor on her thighs. Good thinking.
>>78634577
You don't have to like the KSD run but you gotta admit the flight suit makes more sense for her than the leotard.
>>78635669
seriously go fuck yourself before you go back to school tomorrow
>>78635836
You fags get so buttflustered over this "armor" but tell me. What sort of armor form fits to your abs and biceps like New 52 Supes? All Lee did was add more lines and remove his red panties (thank god for the latter).
>>78635836
1) Different universes, there probably is some Kryptonian super armor.
2) That aside, I still prefer the old outditw better than the Armored look.
>>78635903
The costume is fine when drawn by someone else.
>>78635870
Yes, people wear armor on their thighs all the time. Also, nice way of ignoring literally every other point I made.
>>78635875
I feel like this argument would be settled a lot easier if people drew her like this more.
>>78635854
The flight suit fixes literally none of those problems. She's STILL not wearing armor that would keep her from getting stabbed or punched. In terms of the fabled 'practicality' for a superhero costume, it's identical.
>>78636033
>stabbed
What can stab her? We talking regular knife or Muramasa blade?
>>78636085
The exact same set of circumstances that would lead to her getting stabbed in the leotard would also have her stabbed in the flight suit.
So, whatever would stab her before.
>>78635941
>Oh no, what if I get punched! I'll be helpless! Curse my patriarchal sense of dress!
>>78636188
It's funny how his look is basically back in style now.
>>78636214
Fashion trends being cyclical confirmed
Yeah, Mr. Knight is cool but I love Huston/Hurwitz era Moon Knight suit. I guess it's glowing blue eyes that do it for me.
>>78636214
hate the modern use but somehow 90's Superboy is in my top 3 favorite designs.
>>78636382
>tfw Ultimate costumes were default ones in X-Men Legends 2
>>78636463
I'm surprised there hasn't been a variant of it in the movies, they've kind of done Blue and Yellow in first class.
I always liked Spiderman's web-armpits
>They come back but it's still a Scott run
Well, fuck
>>78635406
He can still fuck doctor spectrum
>>78636278
I like all his costumes.
>>78636482
They're too busy raping characters to pay attention to costumes.
Call me old fashioned but the undies just feel right
>>78636718
What a controversial opinion
>>78636594
Gotta define those characters just by super powers
>>78636718
I really like this costume but it's probably because it's the Superman look I'm most familar with. It feels real safe and comfy, same with every other 90's DC look (black suit and oval Batman, classic Wondy, shiny Wally, Kyle, pirate Aquaman, etc)
>>78635545
>All that piping
No thank you.
>>78636463
The Ultimate costumes were default in the first Ultimate Alliance too, weren't they? There was a legit ass push for the Ultimate Universe in other media back in the day.
>>78635875
That sash belt doesn't make sense.
>>78636986
Yep, they were. I don't mind push, they look nice. Better than X-mask Cyclops wears now.
>>78636594
>They're too busy raping characters
I have no idea you're talking about
>>78637053
>some of us can't control our powers
>then don't!
>>78635306
I liked it, and the new one's not that bad except for the sunglasses as a mask.
>>78635592
Ultimate Jessica isn't 616 Jessica Drew at all though
People just really wanna fuck Peter
>>78636821
I don't mind the new 52 costume, I just don't like redesigns where he has no red separation in the middle like a belt or something, it feels odd, like he's nude or something
I miss the real Black Cat.
Less the costume and more the hair. I've been over what ever is on top of her head for a while now.
Literally please stop existing if you disagree with this.
>>78638531
Her mohawk is idiotic. She looks like anime horse.
>>78638973
Kindly go fuck yourself. Mohawk Storm is Best Storm.
>>78639117
Mohawk is meaningless without punk. Punk Storm is awesome. This is regular Storm with a mohawk.
>>78639137
This
>>78638790
I mean... for all intents and purposes, he's had this costume for 50 years. It's gone from black to blue, the eyes have changed, and the webwings left, but it's never been a drastic permanent change comparable to others ITT.
>>78635672
>Implying a woman cares about heels when she can fly...
The matter in which the costume is made depends on the artist and most of the time it doesn't shine like latex does.
But I agree, it's not supposed to be practical.
For me superheroes costumes are like tuxedos and dresses in red carpet parties, they're for the show.
>>78635875
A superhero's suit kind of reflect its personnality and Carol's personnality is different in KSD's run, so this suit probably suits her better.
Let's just not dismiss the old one. It's up to the artist to make a suit works in most situation.
Wearing thigh high boots and a leotard while killing Skrulls by the dozen didn't weaken her appearance.
>>78642258
It really is amazing how well Spider-man's original costume has held up since it is so colorful and complicated.
