Why is nobody on /co/ discussing the best animated film of the year?
>>
>>78632292
Because it's boring. It has no reason to be an stop motion other than it's just a gimmick. If it was live action no one would give a shit about this bland story.
It's almost as boring as hayao miyazaki's recent films.

Enjoy your Tumblr Universe and Reddit & Morty.

Stop trying to fit in so much faggot.
Is this movie good? I've heard nothing other than you making these threads.

yeah so, super serious puppet sex is dumb

We haven't seen it.

That's the reason for most of us. Ask us when it comes out on DVD.

This

this isnt what John K taught us.
cartoons need to be cartoons, not live action shows/films disguised as cartoons
>>
I was interested until I saw Charlie Kaufman's name on there.

I don't think I ever liked a single movie he wrote.
>>
>>78632670
Or Netflix
>>
>>78632735
Cartoons are whatever we decide they are. *I* have decided that I don't care about John K's opinion.

How much is blue bear making on his pateron these days?
>>
>>78632793
Then you are a pleb that is literally killing the artform. Go back to watching King of the Hill and Family Guy
>>
>>78632292
Will it win the Oscar?
>>
>>78632939

Nah, academy doesn't like this sort of thing.
Spotlight will probably win.
>>
>>78632292
Inside Out? Pretty sure there are threads about it.
>>
>>78632835

I would actually think that John K likes modern Family Guy since it shows a lot of things you literally can't show on live action TV

how does one become a puppeteer? looks like something I would enjoy
>>

To bad Dobson is a certified hack who has no right to comment on maturity in any way, shape or form.

My 13 year old cousin handled situations Dobson's faced with more maturity.
>>

You can do a couple things.

1. Go indie, learn everything yourself. Unlike 3D/2D animation you don't really need any artistic skills (unless you're making the models yourself). Take action figures, make them fight and learn particle effects and hope you pass 100,000 subs on youtube to make decent money.

2. Go to a school for it. (Though I personally think that's pretty dumb.) I know the Sheridan animation bachelor program lets you branch 2nd/3rd year to explore different mediums and pick one you want to do for your final. (2D/3D/Puppeteer) Though in a market already saturated like crazy, restricting your skillset to one type of animation which is almost never used isn't really a good idea, and even if you went that route to sustain yourself you'd need to either work on the next robot chicken or go indie like in the option above.

My suggestion? Keep it as a hobby.

He can draw pretty well, though. That's the crazy thing.
>>
>>78636445
If you call not challenging yourself artistically for a decade drawing well then yeah. I guess you could say that.

57 buckaroos/month
>>
>>78632292
Haven't seen it yet but I want to 'cause I really like Charlie Kaufman and David Thewlis. The animation looks nice too.
>>
>>78632292
>inside out will almost certainly win best animated picture
Why
>>
>>78638775
it was really well reviewed and popular and by Pixar, this is a bit too esoteric and the Academy doesn't take animation seriously.
>>
>>78632292
Nice, slow movie but I don't really like how they have on guy voice all the other characters. I mean, I get why they do it thematically, but I just don't like it all that much.
>>
>>78638022
I could have sworn he was making in the range of $130/month a year ago

>Voter #5: I only watch the ones that my kid wants to see, so I didn’t see [The] Boxtrolls but I saw Big Hero 6 and I saw [How to Train Your] Dragon [2]. We both connected to Big Hero 6 — I just found it to be more satisfying. The biggest snub for me was Chris Miller and Phil Lord not getting in for [The] Lego [Movie]. When a movie is that successful and culturally hits all the right chords and does that kind of box-office — for that movie not to be in over these two obscure freakin’ Chinese fuckin’ things that nobody ever freakin’ saw [an apparent reference to the Japanese film The Tale of the Princess Kaguya, as well as the Irish film Song of the Sea]? That is my biggest bitch. Most people didn’t even know what they were! How does that happen? That, to me, is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen.

>MY VOTE: Big Hero 6

That was a pretty impressive demo, thanks for that.
I'm not the guy you were replying to, but I really enjoyed that.
