So what does /co/'s battlestation look like?
You traditional or digital?

That's a lovely space. I like the clip n the right of the drawing table. What exactly is that circular deal? Does it allow you to rotate the drawing or something?
Pic related is my hole.

>Does it allow you to rotate the drawing or something
I guess so which is pretty convenient
>regular table with an old Graphire 3 on it
>surrounded by a bunch of empty wine glasses I keep meaning to clean later
>have a drawing desk but it's propped flat so it can hold more wine glasses
When I was in high school, I thought becoming a professional would mean having a cool looking setup with model sheets hanging on the walls and stuff.

What kind of drawing desk is that?
>>78623744
Is what it is. Traditional for the most part.
My set up is:
>L-shaped computer desk with long-necked lamp and magnifying glass clamped on
>iMac with custom blower fan and second monitor
>Intuos3 tablet
>17x11 double-bulb heavy duty light box (one of the best equipment investments I've ever made)
>small portable painting easel
>big ass box of paints
>coffee mug full of pens and pencils
>printer with 17x14 scan bed

>I thought becoming a professional would mean having a cool looking setup with model sheets hanging on the walls and stuff.
The reality is usually much less glamorous.
I don't even have one anymore, it's gotten so bad I'm reduced to a sketchbook and a few pencils.

I can smell that ashtray from here. Eugh.
I DIY most of the stuff I use. My bro helped me build this tilted drawing board last time he visited, it's awesome.
This is a corkboard I made to hang all the brainstorming stuff and studies and ideas I like.
Aaaand this is a pochade box I use to hold all the drawing stuff. I use this for plein air the rare time I go outside to paint.
This is all DIY, think I've spent ~50€ totes. The tripod for the pochade box if from the '70s!
>/co/ is exclusively laptop users
trigger me timbers

I'm sorry anon. I hope 2016 is kinder.

Laptops are convenient, but I mainly use my desktop when I'm at home unless I'm at my drawing station. I have a desktop area and a work area, though no pics at the moment.
i need to work on setting up a battlestation, any advice?
>>78629798
What ever you feels best to your needs
my first idea is get some containers for pens or pencils and if you got a tablet
try to get it wireless so so wire doesn't get in the way
>>78629798
Set it up so that the light from the window comes from your left (if you're right-handed).
If you're just starting out, a wooden board propped on your lap and against the edge of a desk can go a very long way,
>battlestation
Please.
>>78629648
Nope.
I'm a desktop user, mainly because I'm a gamer aswell. I only use a laptop for writing and uni related work.
I have everything everywhere. Every corner of my bedroom has something, computer next to bed, tablet on the other side near dozens of sketch pads, old supplies and works in the living room, some supplies on top of my freezer for some reason, and all my travel stuff on my desk. If I had a legitimate setup I'd probably get more done.
99% traditional. Only use digital programs to resize and scan in artwork. But I'm hoping to do more digital work this year.

Holy shit 10/10 set up
Where'd you get that light table desk? Assuming it is one
>>78630358
Thanks.
It was donated to an art group I was a part of in college. Nobody really had room for it in their rooms, and everyone in my group of friends already had their own light table. So I asked to borrow it, and I just held onto it since nobody has asked for it back.

Sorry, didn't mean to trigger you.
Some people happen to have a variety of hobby's.

The table itself is very similar to pic related. But the light box is what was donated. It's very similar to: http://www.artistsupplysource.com/product/23131/gagne-porta-trace-lightbox-18-x-24-oak-frame-three-5000k-lamps/
I just choose to keep the table flat to hold my inkwells and brush basin, also the light box has pegs to prop itself up to give me an angle to draw in.
>>78630646
Thanks! Looking forward to getting something like this
>>78623744
I have one of these bad boys and a small pile of looseleaf.
>>78630749
A basic setup is a little pricey, but a table that can angle itself is great. It will help your posture, and drawing hand.

What about them finger paints?

>What kind of drawing desk is that?
I don't know. I bought it ages ago and I am away from home right now. It has served me well, though.
