Favorite 2D-animated disney movie? I know this a pretty subjective thing to discuss, but I feel like mulan is just perfectly designed.

Emperor's New Groove, hands down.
>>78612626
The Hunchback of Notre Dame, it's the darkest and most real of all of them but everything got spoiled by them damn gargoyles.
>>78613305
still haven't seen this one, honestly the gargoyles turned me off in the trailers but i should still watch it
Pinocchio
Perfection from 1940

Education for Death
Funny as fuck
>>78612626
Mulan, Emperor's New Groove, or Lilo & Stitch.
>>78612982
This.
Mulan and Notre Dame would be contenders if not for their horrible comic relief. Emperor's New Groove does everything it sets out to do perfectly. Wouldn't change a thing.
>>78615100
There was an anon who made a cut without them, but I'm afraid I don't have the download link.
Just fast forward when the gargoyles start moving around. Literally they are the only detraction from the movie, everything else is brilliant.
I have trouble picking a favorite, but I will always have a soft spot for Beauty and the Beast.
>>78612626
Hercules. Fuck the whole "Hurr mah grimdark Greek mythology" it was an awesome flick about heroism with Zero to Hero being one of my top favorite Disney songs.
Runner ups are Emperor's New Groove, Aladdin, Lion King, and Lilo and Stitch.
imho
>>78615850
Personally I think if the presentation is really fucking good its faithfulness to the source matters less. Hercules is a penultimate example.
Besides, even Greek and Roman mythology played the telephone game anyway.
>>78615850
I wish people would move on to realizing it's a Superman movie
I stopped bitching about the mythology stuff when i turned 13
>>78615946
Move ENG to God Tier fuckhead.
>>78615946
Sleeping Beauty needs to be higher.
The Jungle Book and Herc need to be lower.
Other than that I can't see any major problem with this.
>>78615991
Actually it's okay where it is.
>>78615850
I remember my parents wouldn't let me watch it because it was about pagan gods.
Which... wow, one of those "look back and realize how weird it is" things.
Ironically I might have first watched it at a church camp.
>>78615991
Move your mama's ass to my dick.
>>78616010
>Sleeping Beauty
But it's so fucking boring.
>>78615100
Would have been better if they were a figment of Quasi loneliness.
>>78615946
>Snow White and Sleeping Beauty that low
shit list is shit
do you actually look at the movies you're watching or just care about muh funny comic relief and pop culture refs
>>78616014
>Ironically I might have first watched it at a church camp.
I lived through a few heavily religious schools and camps, and any interest in old mythology was allowed as long as it was strictly categorized it as fiction.
>tfw we were allowed to put on a skit about Egyptian mythology at a Baptist Bible camp
>>78616035
I feel like you're under 20. There was plenty going on, it just didn't have tons of chase scenes and was written with ADD children in mind. Also SB is Disney's most artistically beautiful animated movie ever.
>>78616108
Probably has something to do with Prince of Egypt being a relatively high-profile movie about Biblical themes.
I remember helping out my mother when she was minding young-'uns and she put on Prince of Egypt; I protested when she skipped past the babies getting tossed to crocodiles because I thought it disrespected the story.
Course, the kids were like 4...
>>78612626
If the final act of Mulan was just a little longer and actiony, it'd be a perfect movie.
You want the final confrontation to be like Sword of a Stranger.
>>78615850
Greek mythology isn't grimdark or solemn. That's what historian teachers and people who don't know how to read think. Greek tragedies like Oedipus King had a lot of comedy moments.
Either Mulan or Aladdin. Bambi is when they really started to up their style game though.
>>78616147
>muh art
>muh animation
>muh classics
You can assign it as much artistic value as you feel is appropriate, it's still boring.
>>78616104
>muh animation
you'll never be an animator, man, you don't have to keep going on about it all the time.
>>78618307
Go watch the films of Michael Bay, pleb.
Oh fuck, that's hard to choose.
I'd say Aladdin, or maybe Lilo and Stitch. Stitch is such a weird turn for a studio like Disney but it paid off.
My third favorite is Princess and the Frog. Love the fuck out of the style and sound of the movie.
>>78618340
>muh adhd humor
why don't you fuck off back to /tv/ if you don't give a shit about animation?
>>78618489
I do give a shit about animation, I'm just not a huge faggot about it because I think I'm going to be an animator one day.
>>78618417
I wish we lived in a world where all it took for something to be interesting was it looking really pretty, but we just don't, my man.
Sorry no one's ever going to like your doodles because you can't string together a remotely interesting plot.
>>78618875
>>78618902
stop baiting sad little faggot, looks like you cry over your dead animation career the hardest
>>78618963
>implying I'd ever pursue a career in animation
what is it with wannabe animators and believing that everyone's as obsessed with intricately drawn frames as they are?
>>78612626
It's really incredible how this film managed to exceed expectations in such a huge margin.
>>78612626
Lion King, easily
