Is it infront of you OP, do we know your taste in movies OP, this is /co/ OP, you should be expecting these kind of responses OP, but of course if you go to /tv/ you'll get called a pleb for asking about this movie. Yes, it is good and probably as close as any comicbook will come to a good movie, not including the capeshit stuff.

/co/mrades, Rec list are fine but not information. For example if they were asking questions about Dredd, don't answer them. Just give them recs.

You're one of the faggots who shitted up /sp/ with WWE threads even after /asp/ was created aren't you?

Rec threads have ALWAYS been part of /co/, always.

>>
>>78611991
Recs are fine cause they have to read them to get info. The problem with his board is whole threads explaining a character's motives and history. That is the cancer killing /co/. Those people gain the knowledge without any point of reference and they also most likely are getting a biased viewpoint of it. They then teach that to other anons and so on and so forth.

I was always wondering about that, I've been on this site for years and only been to /a/ a few times, b/c the first time I asked for information on a specific horror manga that wasn't translated in English, and they gave me a warning, I was like ok weird, then I asked info on a specific anime soundtrack once again that I couldn't find on youtube whatever, I got fucking banned for that shit, I was like WTF?
>>
>>78612255
On /a/ you are only allowed to talk about current running anime and if you ask for info you get banned.
It's why /a/ is such a shit hole of people who both watch the worst currently running moe shit airing and yet at the same time think they are better than everyone for doing so.
>>
>>78612255
That's how it should be. You were a faggot trying to mine information. Finding it and what not is up to you, but if you don't know what to even read, recs are fine.
>>
>>78611547
The satire was far more subtle, but you bet your ass it had them.
>>
>>78612324
>That is how it should be
Yeah, I want all boards to be as shit as /a/.
>>
>>78612255
It's that 'secret clubhouse' bullshit. At least with /co/ when I ask something about a story or character I'm not too familiar with I usually get some helpful responses.
>>
Wtf is up with this thread?
>>78608529 I made this earlier
>>
>>78612324
But Dredd is pretty obscure at least for USAnons. Surely it's reasonable to ask the /co/mrades for more info before sinking time and money into him?
>>
>>78612324
>but if you don't know what to even read, recs are fine.

No, got a warning for that too, that was the second time I posted on there. If someone wants info on something to watch, read, or find, wtf is the problem with helping them out again? You ever think that ppl telling them to GTFO is part of the problem why new people don't get into comics?
>>
The bait is stronge with deleted anon
>>
>>78612631
>You ever think that ppl telling them to GTFO is part of the problem why new people don't get into comics?
That's assuming you'd actually want new people to get into comics. Comic books are already as good as dead, let's stop desperately dragging it out.
>>
>>78612444
There is this thing called torrenting before you buy it and also forming your own opinions. You should try it. >>78612631
People that want to get into comics ask for recs. People that want to seem knowledgeable on the Internet and to their friends ask for information. Again any info or history you are getting from someone here is biased. Hell I've seen people just completely misanalyze entire comics to other anons and then that shit viewpoint gets passed around. Feeding people information is not good for the person or the site.
>>
>>78612359
Dude thank you.

The satire was there, it wasn't in your face, but it was there.
>>
You think Frank would like living in Dredd's world/dimension?
>>
>>78612631
No, because normal people look up stuff on google and decide for themselves. Also, you can easily pirate stuff and buy it later if you liked it.
>>
just started the movie now let's see if it's good
>>
It's phenomonal. My favorite action movie.

You can skip to literally any frame of this movie and it's fantastically composed.

Also, what the fuck was the deleted posts?
>>
Best part of the movie was there was no fucking around. No romance sub plot or wacky Rob Schneider-esque character. There were people that needed judging, they got judged, movie over.
>>
>>78612691
Nah that's bollocks. Elitist gatekeeping doesn't help anyone.
>>
>>78612798
>Also, what the fuck was the deleted posts?
Disliking shitposters and encouraging people to seek out comics is against the rules now.
>>
>>78612906
Yes it does. You're contributing to the cancer of all these faggots posting in threads pretending like they know anything cause some other anon spoon feed them in another thread. They should have to read it so they don't get a biased, incorrect viewpoint.
>>
>>78612960
I don't know why they were deleted, saying that rec threads are a cancer has never been against the rules.
>>
>>78613123
Yeah I have no idea either. After Moot left it seems like the mods on /co/ just delete anything they disagree with.
>>
>>78613123
It is now, apparently.

Whatever. I'm done trying to make the board better. If y'all want to invite more shitposters, go ahead. I'm gonna try to have a discussion and hope someone actually knows anything.

Just an /a/ustist who got lost on his way home.

Though, with the impending wave of newfriends that will inevitably wash ashore here with the explosion of cape movies this year, we ought to figure out what our policy is on how much newness we'll tolerate. I haven't heard /co/ is love in years so I know that era is dead. What I don't know is where we stand respective to inbred tribes like /a/ and eyes-close arms-open havens like Sweden.

On one hand, closedness preserves quality. But openness takes a gambit of a dip in quality to allow for newfriends to catch up to speed, potentially yielding a similar quality to closedness but at greater quantities.

I summon the wise one Judge Anon to this thread! What do you think, /co/?
>>
>>78613335
Haven't heard /co/ is love in damn near 4 years
>>
>>78613335
I support the idea of allowing recs but not information mining. Basically >>78612969
>>
>>78613375
It's a pretty gay saying anyway tbqh
>>
>>78613335
>allow for newfriends to catch up to speed

If they really wanted to read comics in the first place, they'd simply do so. If they really need recs that badly, they'd just lurk more.

I don't think the people that make threads like this (especially the "I just saw the movie" type) end up becoming fans of the medium.
>>
>>78613528
I kinda agree with this. I got into comics by lurking and just downloading things I thought might be cool. Doesn't mean I'm against recommendations though, a lot of people still think you have to reads 70 years of stories to catch up or have no idea where to start. But I also agree with >>78612969. Recommend some stories to read but don't spoonfeed information so they can pretend to read comics in movie threads.
>>
>>78613528
Nah I'm OP and I think this movie is pretty nice.

I feel like I just drove into town after a tornado touched down. It's interesting to see the aftermath of a shitstorm.

OP, I haven't read any Dredd either, but I enjoyed the movie. I liked the Stallone movie too, but for different reasons. This one seemed more serious and realistic while Stallone's was full of camp, which was fun. Also, Stallone's version was about the LLLOOOOWWWAAAAAHHHHH!

>>
>>78615885
It would literally take you 5 min to look through all the boards you lazy newfag.
>>
>>78613375

I heard it in the Secret Santa thread this paat holiday season. /co/ isn't a lost cause yet.
>>
>>78615885
/rapidshare/ board. There used to be a crawler that automatically added all Rapidshare, Megaupload and other filesharing sites to a separate board (/rs/) with an extensive search engine. You could find any comic posted in the last couple of years before that Though most of the older links were dead MegaUpload links.

I used to get entire ongoings from there.
>>
>>78611405
Its good except for the SJW shit they put in, with a girl crime lord and a GIRL Judge.
SJW shit ruins another comic.
>>
>>78615983

I don't even know if he's trolling or not.
>>
>>78615961
>rapidshare
Oh, I remember that. It was always baffling to me that board managed to exist at all. Surprisingly little fuss when it was removed.

>>78615921
/rs/ doesn't exist anymore, you idiot.
>>
>>78616038
Well nobody really used it, there were some music links and some comic links and heaps of porn that nobody looked at. People rarely used the actual uploading features and everything would immediately get bumped to the bottom by generic image sets so it couldn't be used like /f/.
>>
>>78616038

Links were getting purged in minutes by the time the board was killed. I think it ended up being more useful for people looking to dcma shit than to anyone else. It had been useless for years by the time it got squashed.
>>
I didn't really like it.

You might.

I absolutely hated the cinematography in it, I liked the grimy future world idea but the cheesy super slow motion phantom camera stuff and the way they kept pushing the iso of the digital cameras until you could see PURPLE NOISE in some shots instead of just adding some more fucking light to the scene bothered me.

I get that they were trying to go for the gritty look but digital noise isn't as appealing as film grain is, they could have added it later.

Just fucking watch it and find out for yourself, it's not that long.
>>
>>78613163
You're the guy that called Slaine shit the other day without having ever read it. fuck off.
>>
>>78616368
I didn't say it was shit. I said it looks like shit. Big difference.
>>
>>78616586
that quite literally means the same thing you fucking autist
>>
>>78617265
No it doesn't. Just because something looks like shit doesn't necessarily mean it is shit. Or are you really that shallow?
>>
>>78616586
saying that means you dont even agree with you own backwards logic
>>
>>78617305
