I'm not a fan of Gunwild's style of writing. It's a humour comic but its not quite funny enough to ever make me laugh.

Psudonym used to live on the Drawthread and a few other threads. Psudo also gave me my favorite alt Raven costume.

I actually find that Psu's art has gotten a lot less imaginative since they got "better." They used to have that scratchy "gotta get this down!" style that a lot of Eurocomics have, but now that they draw with more technical skill they've put that passion and imagination on the backburner, and that's the worst thing that can happen to any artist.

This is actually showing which of the two is the weaker link. Gunwild seems to be really bad at maintaining any sense of tone. In one panel he'll draw attention to a delicate and complex political situation in the midst of an intergalactic war...Then suddenly there's a slapstick or quirky scene that dissolves all of that.

I don't think they're all the same character, it's that they all seem to be reduced down so much that it's hard to actually tell what a certain character is meant to be, and because of that issue with tone they all become the same quirky character on a dime.

The sexiness is incredibly tame and mostly limited to Quinn showing off. If there were involuntary fanservice like the police girl getting her clothes torn off or sexual situations there would probably be riled tumblrites. I haven't read this comic in months so I freely admit I may not know what I'm talking about.

I think they only started chasing her after the second chapter, at which point she's stolen two ships from them, i can't remember if the first was special outside of being theirs, but the second one was a medical ship, there's a chance that more people than maddy wants to see her behind bars. It also seems like they don't want to put her in any overt danger with her being a noblewoman, in which case putting her on cass is a good balance between priority and danger.

Psu's art is great, there's definitely no contesting that. The writing is really the only thing holding it back from being a fantastic comic. The characters are nice from a conceptual standpoint but no one really stands out because they're all so simplistic.
It doesn't help that they update at a snail's pace and can't even seem to focus on the fucking stories they want to tell. It seems like this racing chapter was just getting started before they started tossing in one-shots about Christmas space porn and loli Quinn. Hell, I'm not a fan of their one-shots in general. Instead of having Quinn tell the audience directly why she doesn't like pants, why can't they organically bring that up in the actual story? And god, fuck off with the sci-fi references, we don't need to be constantly reminded of how redundant and derivative you are.
I'm surprised to hear that they were advertising that this was a cheesecake comic, because that's news to me. Asides from two chapter covers and a couple ass shots, it's not like they've gone out of the way to be sexy. It doesn't need to be Menage a 3, but even Blaster Nation is a more titillating comic than a comic about a skimpy space thief.

But honestly I feel that it'll be one of those things where I'm only reading it for the fanservice.

It's changed a lot from 2007 when I used to be really active. I read more and post far, far less than I did when I was an actual, factual regular... but y'know, when I started getting banned for posting smutty fanfic, which is what I was here to do in the first place, I realized it wasn't home anymore. It gave me good friends and collaborators, and I hope it can continue to do that for other people.
Still a good place to discuss stuff when you watch a cartoon or read a comic, though. Well, sometimes. Occasionally. If you're lucky.
