There hasn't been a single-packed Russel or Sunil toy for a while, and there hasn't been a Vinnie toy period for a while. Jebbie needs a toy that doesn't come with a giant playset. They also need to release more Cashmere and Velvet toys because the line there in sold poorly here, so we never got their wave.

Yeah, what the other anon said. Of that huge set of about 75 toys, only 2 or 3 of them are characters from the show; the rest are just random animals.
And I'm not just talking about main characters, either. LPS has a heavy focus on 1-shot characters, constantly introducing new characters in almost every episode. They have a HUGE cast of characters from the show to make toys out of, but they instead choose to go for random animals that have never appeared in the show.

Hasbro wanted to have LPS to focus on "personalization". Hence you get removable heads to place on multiple different figures, rearrangable toy sets and all the pets getting a unique name and character description (on the LPS Your World app).
But yeah, I could understand why the toys wouldn't be selling well because as the pets from the show barely appear in the toyline and when Blythe takes more and more of the spotlight which should have gone to those that form the franchise, the toys barely have a chance to appear on the show. I mean wouldn't it be cool to see what some of the pets would be like, such as Farrah May and Smugs Patton (this black cat--http://www.hasbro.com/common/productimages/en_US/fe93ef1550569047f5bbd8cc064bab51/c64c22c87e6964e03e49a7674c1747a2dede4f77.jpg)

I only hope that the next generation gives enough airtime for the toys they're producing, especially to the main seven. I also wish they could redesign some of the main ones so less people would call it a ripoff of YKW (i.e. Zoe becomes pink, twin sister of Gail, whom you probably already forgot).
But on the bright side, it seems that this Pets in the City series may receive high acclaim b/c the toys' heads wouldn't come off (for the idea that you could take off heads scared the girls) and they are made in a different kind of plastic.

He's not really the same. Larry (I'm fairly certain that's his name) is just a kind of laid-back "cool guy" character. The lobster here is the "overly enthusiastic super-tough workout trainer" character. And a bit of a jerk, to make the story work.
