I genuinely enjoyed it, more than Inside Out in fact, but the ending killed the ride for me
[Spoiler] I LOVED the idea of different species evolving to suit their natural needs. Herbivores developed agriculture, carnivores became ranchers, it was a damn neat idea.
Thats why I was SO sure that the whole thing was leading up to Arlo "making his mark" by pioneering the domestication of lower lifeforms. The humans would come live on their farm, providing the dinosaurs with extra protection from the surrounding wilderness and companionship and the humans would gain permanent shelter and a steady food source. Everybody wins.

True, so much potential lost, the original plot had Arlo saving Spot through the discovery of fire but execs ditched the idea because they wanted a cowboy fire scene with the rexes
The scenery was absolutely gorgeous. As for everything else... it was enjoyable enough, but it never felt like I was seeing anything that hadn't been done before, and better.

I think it's the other way round, it has been highly criticised because it's a Pixar film, too high expectations
Love how Spot doesn't speak a word through the whole film, that would have killed the character

I liked it. Environments looked fine. Water looked like it would take an extremely long time to do if a render farm wasn't being used. Also liked the short played before the film.
