What's the consensus on this one? I've only read the ones illustrated by Bisley, and I've really liked the cool mix of barbarian celtic mythology and psychedelic drawing.
Any comics in similar fashion?

Whatever, Slaine is great, looses a bit of steam during the 90's with stories going from meh to good, but picks up big time in the 2000's starting with Moloch, its been solid since and has a new series coming out in a few months.

adding on that, while im gonna say start at the begining, the first book is a little meh, you should still read it but need to keep in mind that era was a bit more child freindly, kinda. Book 2 starts with the Time Killers arc which is fucking great.

Slaine's great, but it's definitely a Pat Mills book. It is one of his most restrained works, but the writing is still very much an acquired taste.
Art, of course, is fucking top notch. Not just Bisley but Belardinelli, McMahon, Fabry, Garres, Langley and now fucking Simon Davis, it's all good.

I like the vividly rich and colorful style, some aspects remind me of Frazetta, but at some places I'm not fond of disproportionate anatomy. Still, the story/background is fucking killer.
