So I know Man of Steel wasn't very good but I like the angle they're going with Superman here. Superman's best stories are the ones dealing with his duties as a hero. That line Martha said in the trailer about "you don't owe these people anything" is exactly the kind of thing I want to see DCEU Superman struggle with.

Agreed. That was a marketing fuck up. I'm pretty sure that that trailer was cooked up by someone from the marketing team who is in deep shit right now. They should have played up the hype of the clash between them. Even though anyone with a brain knew that eventually they were going to team up together, seeing that in the trailer killed a lot of hype for a lot of people. Really, really dumb move.
I'm still hype as fuck but they should have stopped the trailer way earlier and put some more scenes of tension between the two if they wanted to make up the time.

Eh, the most recent trailer is playing pretty well to casual audiences who were hoping to have a little more balance in tone with some humor and lightness. Every female-centric outlet is hype at the Wondy shot too. It's broadening it's market appeal, so it's doing it's job. I think it'll still be the same tone as MoS with a few more moments of levity and lightness thrown in, so I'll be happy.
