About a month before Uncanny X-Men 600 came out, we got this series of unlettered preview pages. I made some... informed guesses about how the dialogue was going to go, and filled in the blanks. Most people agree that my speculative version of the scene was actually better than what we got in issue 600 when it came out. A small point of pride for me.
I keep thinking of going back and re-writing the entirety of All-New X-Men in the same style. I already know what I would call my re-written version. In retrospect, it almost seems too obvious.

Actually, I re-wrote the dialogue a month or so before the issue came out. I can't tell you how I howled with laughter when I saw the actual page and realized that Bendis had written the same dialogue for that panel, more or less, as I had.
