Remember that classic page on the jet with Flash, Wondie and Supes where Batman is making shitty jokes about what everyone would do if they could have anything they wanted and it was simple mundane things and then when he gets to him he's just lost in though of dreaming with the power and everyone else is like "shit..."
It's perfectly in his character to want more, to want power, to set things right in ways he could not before.
