What dies /co/ think of Grant Morrison?
>>
Heavy Metal looks interesting. I'm definitely going to try that.

All his other projects bore me right now. Just film pitches and superhero circlejerks.
>>
I like his views on child labor.
>>
>>78543281
bald wanker
>>
>>78543281

I like him when is not writing for DC. All Star Superman was cool, though.
>>
>>78543281
He's a mad Scottish genius. Easily my favorite comic writer writing today.
>>
>>78543281
What Grant Morrison wants us to think of him.
>>
>>78543603
>Absolute madman
>>
>>78543281
Best CAPE comic writter ever. He does need to try more stuff outside cape stuff if he wants to be as good as moore.
>>
A God King born anew on Mount Olympus.
>>
>>78544155
The problem is that what makes him such a good writer is his deep love and understanding of what makes cape comics good. His podcast interview with Kevin Smith goes into detail on that a lot.
>>
Morrison is a fantastic writer because he understands what the characters should be. He understood that Batman was a story of a man transcending being a man but not being a god. His run of new x men was the greatest because he knew how to fit them into the early 2000s.
>>

Brian Michael Benis is a fantastic writer because he understands what the characters should talk about. He understood that Guardians of the Galaxy was a story of a man dancing like a man but not dancing like a god. His run of x men was the greatest because he knew how to fit them into the 2010s.
>>
I don't like his older work as much as I used to but The Invisibles was a formative work for me and I still love The Filth.

I enjoyed a bunch of his modern day superhero work (Seven Soldiers, parts of his Batman stuff) but Multiversity's "ended" with such a wet fart that I'm kinda done with it. I'll read Wonder Woman Earth One but that's about it. Also the guy has "quit" superhero comics like three times now but he keeps steadily writing them anyway? What's up with that?
>>
I find it shocking that he's only getting better as he ages (even though he'll never surpass his Batman run). I'd like to see him do another Marvel run. Or maybe do something with characters that have been given the shaft for a while.
>>
Morrisonfags, what are you're least favorite works by him?

Desu, I'd have to say Seven Soldiers or All-Star Superman. Why? I find both of them extremely boring I liked Klarion and Shining Knight, but the rest of the stories were beyond lackluster. Superman doesn't appeal to me in the slightest, and Morrison's ideas didn't change my opinion on him.
>>
>>78545782
He is not fantastic, he is a really fun writter just like johns that loves comics and loves SOME characters.
>>
>>78546599
It wasn't really bad, but I didn't like We3.
>>
>>78543281
New Xmen is overrated, especially here on co
>>
Doom Patrol, All Star Superman, Action Comics, the entire Bat Epic, Final Crisis, Seven Soldiers. It's all incredible.
>>
I like him a lot and I always have but all the positive response in this thread is making me cautious.

I haven't been to /co/ in a while... are troll levels down or is unanimously liking Morrison a new meme? Or is are we just lucky so far?

Anyway, yeah, Morrison. I'll always have a soft spot for The Invisibles, and the Bat Epic is the Bat Epic and ASS is one of my favorite pieces of Superman media that I've ever seen.

He's one of a kind.

It goes to shit when Fantomex comes back. It never gets good after that. The nova/riot/murder mystery arcs were so fun, it's weird how he dropped the baleader after that. I prefer Whedon's run desu.

/co/ literally makes this exact same thread a couple of times weekly. Thoughts about him run the gamut, I think his haters are just sleeping or something.
>>
>>78547913
Look at how few people are in this thread.

All the /co/mrades who dislike Morrison are elsewhere. All the /co/mrades who neither like nor dislike Morrison (settling instead for mere indifference) are elsewhere.

>unanimous
>>
>>78546599
Happy! Is objectively the worst thing he has ever written.
>>
What's the Batman Epic? I see it thrown around a lot and it sounds interesting.
>>
>>78546599
>what are you're least favorite works by him?
Final Crisis. I know /co/ typically loves it, but I felt like he was trying to do too many things at once. I read all the necessary supplemental material and understood it all, but it just didn't hit the notes on comics commentary as his other works like Flex or even his Batman Run, and just having a "big multiverse-ending uber event" doesn't do enough to make a story good.
>>
>Grant Morrison will never save the Fantastic 4
>>
I like his writing very much.
But Why does he put Superman at supreme level in DC cosmology?
He seems to put Superman at Throne of GOD.
>>
>>78548268
Morrison's Run on Batman from 2006-2011. It includes, in order:
Batman and Son
The Black Glove
Batman RIP
Time and the Batman and/or Final Crisis
Batman and Robin 1-16
Return of Bruce Wayne
Batman Inc.

read it immediately. It's my favorite run of all time.
>>
>>78548329
Hickman already did that but ok.
>>
>>78548384
It might have partially to do with Morrison's personal relationship with Superman. His dad was a huge anti-nuclear protestor and Morrison was in constant fear that the nukes could kill them all any minute (there was a US nuclear sub port right outside of Glasgow), and when he started reading comics he thought that Superman was the only thing that could survive and save everyone from nukes.
>>
>>78543281
What the fuck happened at the end of Nameless?
>>
Isn't his Action Comics run awesome?
>>
>>78548449
really?
If so, impressive.
>>
>>78548464
Needed more Socialist jeans and boots Superman. Jumped way to quick into modern Supes.
>>
>>78548416
>>78548423

There's a torrent of the full Bat Epic, right? Or does Libgen have it and I should just download em individually.
>>
>>78548525
https://kat.cr/complete-grant-morrison-batman-comic-run-pre-new-52-t7100920.html

Looks like it doesn't have that many seeders, but it should download quickly considering you don't need to read half of the things in that torrent.
>>
>>78543281
Klaus is fucking awesome so far, although that's mostly due to the art
>>
>>78548451

Nameless died and Earth was kind of saved.
>>
>>78543281
you fuckers! isn't it enough you killed Lemmy?
>>
he did a great job in that my chemical romance video.
>>
I think he's a literal wizard.
>>
>>78548329
you mean ruin them, right? just like he destroyed x-men.
his mini series made fantastic 4 literally incestuous
