Just found out Pete's Dragon is being remade for a 2016 movie. Is there really a point?
I can understand the Jungle Book, but Pete's Dragon? I consider it one of those Disney movies that is part of the Mary Poppins era. It has enough charm on it's own, why disturb the grave?
Thoughts?

Because Disney is in the process of remaking literally every single film they've ever done.

The same reason any new remake/reboot/rehash is done: money; despite the fact that, usually, remakes and reboots never make as much money overall as the original did and never reach the same amount of popularity as the original did.

Even the shitty ones?

Is anyone actually nostalgic for Pete's Dragon?
I mean sure, I liked it okay as a kid (the songs are a little annoying now as an adult), but I literally know no one for which this movie was a childhood keystone.

I liked bedknobs and broomsticks better as a kid, pete's dragon was more forgettable.

It's all just an elaborate scheme to keep Pete relevant in the Electrical Parade

YES
soon they'll be remaking pocahontas, the emperor's new groove, treasure planet and the little mermaid
You know why.

At least it'll be a musical
>quickly checks wiki, doesn't mention musical
Oh well

This is what I thought too. If nothing else, at least people will now understand why that float is there.

>treasure planet
>shitty
You are a colossal waste of air, leave Earth now.

Disney is out of ideas, plain and simple. and by ideas I mean they've ran out of folk tails to adapt.
