Do you think we'll get an animated adaptation before the decade's over?

When would you guess we'll get a teaser for the first movie? (Yes, I'm being optimistic it's still happening)

Is Bone's /co/'s "Monster"? (i.e. the 'ITT: overrated shit' starter)

No, not really, most people agree it's pretty damn good.
>>

>overrated shit' starter

No, I've seen some people here dismiss it entirely for looking to " kiddy" same with the Barks/Rosa Duck comics
>>
>>78537136
I guess it's same like with Hellboy, it's good, but there's really nothing to talk about it. But i love it, i haven't read RASL or Tüki, i wonder if they are any good.

There was a game but i only got past that dragon guy

No, never, and no.

I too am curious about these things.

Hellboy gets threads when it comes out, Bone's been over for years is more the case. The comics that have strict monthly schedules and the shows that air weekly get discussed because they come out more frequently

I'm really hoping it doesn't get a movie adaptation. I hate to sound like one of those 'muh medium' fags, but I don't feel like it would translate well to a movie format at all.

Maybe a mini-series or a series of some kind.

I only read about half of the books, but it also seems the tone is all over the place. This is well handled, mind you, but I feel like moving media would have a harder time with it.

It would work as a nice animated series, maybe a few OVA's.

Jeff Smith is pretty protective of how it would be treated. And thank god for that.

Nickelodan, I think it was, offered to make a movie but they wanted to put in pop stars and child actors and Smith told em to fuck right off

>RASL

I couldn't get into RASL. I should give it another shot.

Sadly, I think this is exactly why we won't ever get a movie adaptation. A big studio won't touch it unless they can promise a profit, and a smaller independent studio might not have the dosh for his vision.

eh. Im content with that. It's the calvin and hobbes thing all over again.

Yeah Id like a movie or a series, but Id rather a good one and Id rather nothing over a bad one

LAIKA should do it.

Stop motion Bone.
>>

I think its definitely an overrated comic, it's maybe one of the best kids comics but when you read posts from grown adults praising it as a masterpiece you wonder if they have ever actually read a comic made for adults.
>>
>>78537403
A series would be best. Honestly, I don't know why people want movie adaptations of comics in the first place. Comics are a serial format. Adaptations need room to breathe.

Knight has been talking about wanting to do a 2D film at Laika...

T-thanks Anon, I'd been trying to forget that movie.

I bought the Bone omnibus a few days ago.
It's awesome but I guess I got a copy that isn't in color for some reason and it's really pissing me off, I feel like I'm missing out
>>
>>78539092
If it's anything to you, a lot of folks seem to think something was lost by the art being colored. The original was in black and white, so the inking reflects that heavily, making the coloring awkward sometimes.

well I think the colored edition is beautiful myself but the original series was all black and white.

Bone is literally a self published work so it was a lot cheaper to get made that way

Bone's pretty good.

Sure the NWA movie did good but is an animated series really the way to go

Someone should do a parody of that cover but with the 3 Bones and Bartleby instead.
