boy, this sure didn't age well, did it? Back then I loved 8-bit-theater but I can't go back to it without cringing, what happened?

You grew up.
Do you have the one about chocobo breeding, I remember that one still being pretty funny.
>However, I did watch them mate a lot
>Why did you have to watch them mate?
>I didn't say I had to.
I think the earlier comics didn't age to well, but I think it got better as it went along.
>i'm dancin' like a monkey!
man back when everyone absolutely need to shoehorn invader zim quotes everywhere
those were dark times
I liked the ending

Nah, a lot of strips we still great.
It got funnier as it went on.

The ending was 10/10.
I didn't think it could deliver but it did it perfectly.
I think the comic still lives up to a lot of its charm.

Nothing happened except emotional investment. You became emotionally invested in the strip, and more cringeworthy stuff seemed okay because of your attachment to the better moments.
This is how all fiction works. Humor in particular relies deeply on an audience warming up to it over time. There's a reason short standup routines are so much harder than long sets.
I always thought the early shit was a little weak. It really picked up in my opinion when they meet Sarda for the first time.

a decade old humor + you growing up.
how is everyone always surprised by this?
Leave it be, it had its place at that time, not everything can be dug up at any point and still feel fresh.

>Posting early 8bit theather
It didn't grow into it's own until around the class upgrades. It still has some of my favorite jokes ever. Like pic related.
>Ninjas so well trained they show up on command even when they've long since died of starvation.

It gets a lot better as it goes on. I think it's a great comic dispite it's 'webcomicy' start. The Simpsons references and video game mechanics humour get dropped before too long and it's all uphill from there.

It took a bit for it to come into it's own. Still holds up overall.
I should really finish reading this comic, but it's so been so long I'll have to start from the beginning again.
God do I long for a giant collected edition of this.
>>78530403Is it wrong that I actually miss sprite comics? The few good ones had a certain charm to them.

It honestly gets much better later.
